Realize that you are entering a dimension that is similar to Earth reality in its natural laws, but that there are some differences to be aware of. First and foremost, realize that the law of karma is much quicker than it is on the Earth plane. The very fact that you are attempting to have astral projections purposefully means that you are too evolved not to be aware of karmic repercussions for your actions in the astral worlds. There is no mercy! Nor is there a time lapse, like there is on Earth, where you might even have time to change the repercussions if you realize the error of your ways and correct the imbalance within yourself. Karma returns to you on the astral planes with a boomerang whack if you are not careful about controlling your thoughts, emotions and actions. This goes for good karma too, thankfully, so do many good acts if you can. In fact, you will find yourself being called on to assist others who are “stuck” in the astral planes, or who are processing issues there. You may also be asked to assist those who have not finished the “crossover” from Earth life to the after life, and have lingered longer than necessary in the astral worlds. There is a large clean-up effort going on in the astral worlds, and humans who have achieved the ability to traverse the dimensional lines are being called on as part of their training to participate in this clean-up effort. There are dark energies that simply need to be given the love and the light they need to move into their higher state, and some of them are just consciousness loop thought forms that need to be dispersed or converted back into their raw form: simply put, energy.

Another thing to realize is that duality is still part of the astral dimension, and is a governing force, just as it is on Earth. There are both light and dark energies, good and evil. There are friendly entities, and unfriendly entities, pleasant places and unpleasant places. The astral worlds are still “lower” dimensions, not the heavenly realms that some people might think they are. In fact, the astral worlds are a transitory plane, a bridge between the Earth plane and the heavenly realms. Many souls passing on from their Earth lives do not realize that they have not reached the heaven realms yet, and that they are still immersed in the duality that the astral worlds are governed by. For instance, a person may “see the tunnel of light,” is greeted by angels, maybe even Jesus or some other revered figure, welcomed by family, etc. If some one is from a different religion, perhaps a fleet of virgins is there to greet him, or a castle of gold is to become his or her new home. However, this is all still a product of the mind and is not the end of the journey.

It is not unusual for souls to fall into the temptation to simply partake and enjoy the pleasures of the astral worlds simply because it is pleasant to be there, and one thinks he or she might have already reached heaven. (These will be some of the souls you will be guided to assist in their awakening to the truth of their situation, that they are still immersed in a dream of the mind and that their journey isn’t over.) Tibetan Buddhists call the astral worlds the Bardo worlds, in loose terms, and that becoming trapped in the astral worlds is a certainty that a reincarnation back onto the Earth plane will be the natural result of such trappings. Tibetan Buddhists believe that it is of utmost importance that the soul realize that these worlds are illusions and it is the only way to break the reincarnational cycle. They also believe that even a pleasant adventure in the astral worlds will sooner or later become sour and disintegrate for the soul hoping to stay there forever, and perhaps even become terrifying, and the soul will either awake to the fact that it is all illusion of the mind, or run back to Earth for another incarnation in order to escape the terrifying turn of events that are presenting themselves in the astral worlds. Either way, the astral worlds are to be seen for what they are: another realm for the mind to have experiences in that are simply projections of consciousness, and not “truth.”

Another law of the astral planes is that manifestation is instant. You need $100? It is immediately in your hands. You need a bench to sit on? There it is. You can manifest anything you want anytime. Whatever you want to experience, it is there. Whoever you want to meet, he or she appears. Whatever it is that you project from your mind, it will appear. You can also unmanifest things as quickly as you manifest them. You don’t want to tangle with that Tasmanian devil? Simply wish it away and it is so. No entity has control over you unless you let it, and you are not stuck in any experience unless you think you are, which in itself may be part of the lesson that you are trying to learn in the astral worlds during a situation like that.

Like attracts like, which is the same as the law on the Earth plane. If you think dark thoughts, you will attract dark experiences. If you think light thoughts, you will attract light experiences. You might be thankful if you have not had an astral projection during darker times in your life, even thought you might have liked the idea of being able to escape from the pain you were experiencing on the Earth at the time. The astral worlds are only another place where these thoughts and feelings of pain and suffering would have been played out, and maybe in a more exaggerated way than they were being experienced on the Earth plane. Be sure that you are going into the astral worlds with the mental and emotional tones that will bring you good experiences, for like attracts like without exception.

Last but not least, realize that there are all levels of beings in the astral worlds. There are evolved beings and there are lesser evolved beings, just like on Earth. There are souls who have had lifetimes on Earth and those who have not. There are angels and demons both. As said before, the astral worlds are governed by duality just as the Earth plane is, and so there is room for all kinds of experiences and entities and their individual journeys through duality. The astral worlds are highly populated, as well, so you will have an opportunity to meet friend and foe alike, and participate with the different kinds of beings who are there. Just as you choose your friends on the Earth plane, you will want to choose your friends in the astral worlds the same way. What do their actions and words tell you about who they are? What energy do you pick up from the other soul? Are you able to feel a heart connection?
