Spiritual Uses: Agates are grounding stones that help one to obtain a better physical and emotional balance. Agate balances both the yin-yang energy and the physical, emotional, and intellectual bodies with the etheric energies. It helps to stabilize the aura, and provides for a cleansing effect that both transforms and eliminates negativity, and also smoothes dysfunctional energies. It helps to develop a precise way of examining both the self and the circumstances relevant to the well-being of self.
Physical Uses: Agate can be used to stimulate analytical capabilities and precision, helping to nurture perceptiveness to situations and awakening the inherent talents we all possess. Also, it is used as a connector to the spiritual worlds, producing a feeling of inspiration and a connectedness to spiritual entities. Other uses include strengthening the sight, diminishing thirst, and promoting marital fidelity. They also lead to greater acceptance of the self and build self-confidence. Agates are an aid to the digestive system.
History: Agate placed in water for use in cooking and/or drinking is said to dispel sickness.
