Aventurine
Description: Aventurine is found in shades of blue, brown, red, and green. The green variety is generally recognized as the type with the most uses. Aventurine is a variety of mineral (usually quartz or feldspar) that is spangled with bright particles of mica, hematite, etc. The properties of whatever mineral Aventurine is mixed with is, naturally, included in the whole gemstone.
Location: It can be found in Russia, Brazil, India, and Nepal.
Spiritual Uses: Aventurine is, because of its green color, used to both activate and clear the heart chakra. The color green is also associated with calming troubled emotions and in speeding healing. Aventurine is an all-around luck stone, used by gamblers and for money-attracting magic.
Physical Uses: Aventurine influences both physical and mental planes, with the ability to take a negative situation and bring it into balance. This stone promotes a general state of well-being. Aventurine is a gentle healing stone, and can impart a positive impact in all aspects of life from youth into maturity. It is known to strengthen eyesight, and is worn, carried, or used in spells to increase perception, to stimulate creativity, and to enhance intelligence. It has been used in the treatment of disorders of the lungs, heart, adrenal glands, and the muscular and urogenital systems. Aventurine is also supposed to be beneficial to the thymus gland, the nervous system, and one’s general state of mind. It can be placed anywhere on the body for healing purposes or simply carried around for daily activities to exert its subtle influence.
History: In ancient Tibet, Aventurine was used for nearsightedness to improve the wearer’s perception. It was also used to stimulate creativity.
