Charging Water With Crystals
One of the main components of most Pagan altars is a chalice of water, usually placed in the West. Crystals can be used to charge the water, which raises the vibration and gives it greater healing capacities. From the book, The Complete Crystal Guidebook (1986) by Uma Silbey, she explains how to charge the water. “To charge water, use a clear glass container and fill it with distilled or spring water. Then choose a clear quartz crystal or any color stone to use with the water. Quartz crystal is a very popular gem stone to conduct this ritual, but it is by no means the only stone you can use. Clear crystals can be used as a preventative measure against ill health.
Before you use the stone, clear it. Take the crystal and drop it into the glass container of water. Sensitize your hands and center your focus upon the container. Hold your hands, palms down, about three or four inches above the top of the container. If your hands are sensitive and your concentration strong, you will feel a buoyant feeling between your palms and the water. Now, circle your hands, still palms down, clockwise three or four times over the top of the container. With sensitivity you will note an actual change in feeling between your palms and the water with the crystal in it. You now have actually changed the properties of the water to match those of the stone that you dropped in it. You can taste the difference. When you drink this water, it will affect your body in ways inherent to the stone.
The effects will be much stronger if you now place the container in the sunlight for an hour, a day or even three days. You can then drink it, or store it in your fridge for later use. Be conscious of the effects of various doses of water. Sometimes a few sips is all that is needed at a time. In acute cases of illness, you might want to drink a glass every 15 minutes. Experiment with yourself and check the results.”
