The color range includes white, yellow, and gray. Labradorite sometimes flames with broad patches of peacock blue, coppery red, or dusky gold labradorescence. This is because of interference of light rays from the plate-like composition, causing a display of spectral colors.

Location: Fine Labradorite showing beautiful colors comes from East Labrador (in Canada). In addition, it has been found in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, in Essex and Lewis counties. Some has been found in Finland and Norway and a fine grade in Madagascar. Pale yellow crystals have been found in Utah, California, Oregon and Texas.
