Spiritual Uses: The Moonstone is so intimately connected with the Moon that many use it in accordance with the lunar phases. The stone is associated with the Goddesses Diane, Selene, Isis, and all lunar deities. Some believe that it is more magically potent during the Waxing Moon and others use it during the moon’s waning phase for divinatory rituals. Its energy is introspective, balancing, reflective, and lunar. It is capable of helping one with the changing structures of one’s life on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. Just as the Moon is ever changing, the stone can help us to accept the changes in our lives. Moonstone energy relates to “new beginnings” which are the fruits of each “ending.” Moonstones help to cool, soothe, and calm over-reactions to emotional and personal situations. These stones open us up to the feminine and are associated with sensitivity, intuition, and clairvoyance. Moonstone is also a receptive and love-drawing stone, and should be worn or carried to bring a love into your life. It is also prized for its ability to work out problems between lovers, especially those who have bitterly fought. Hold a Moonstone, empower it with loving vibrations, and give it to your troubled partner. Moonstone, because of its associations with the Moon, who brings sleep, can be placed beneath the pillow, or beads of Moonstone can be worn to bed in order to ensure restful sleep. Moonstone has a gentle protective nature. Just as the Moon seems to travel through the zodiac, the Moonstone can be a traveler’s protective charm. Carry or wear it when away from home, especially during travel over or on the water. The stone should be empowered with protective energies before being given to a traveler and the stone can be worn also while swimming for protection in the water. Moonstone beads or pendants are worn during divinatory acts, producing psychism in general. The stone can be kept with tarot cards, rune stones, or other divinatory tools, to heighten the ability for the user to perform divination with them. Moonstone are known to heighten psychic abilities, and are valuable in helping people to get in touch with their subconscious nature, enabling them to find direction and purpose from the subconscious. Moonstone can help one in sustaining and maintaining one’s life, and provide an understanding of the destiny one has chosen. It works to bring the galactic evolved energies from the other worlds to accessibility. It enhances perception and discernment, enabling one to make decisions that painlessly further one’s development. Moonstone also cleanses negativity from the chakras, enhancing the feminine qualities of one’s nature while providing for spiritual nourishment and sustenance, and a loving compassion to further assist one through all changes. It is a stimulator of confidence and composure, allowing one to understand that there is no situation so difficult that it cannot be countered with diplomacy. Moonstone is said to both arouse tenderness within the self, and to bring happiness to the environment in which it resides. Moonstone may benefit all parts of the lower torso, which includes digestive, cleansing, and reproductive organs. Another interesting use of the stone is that it can be worn or used in rituals designed to renew or maintain a youthful appearance and attitude (which can be more convincing than outward looks).
