Spiritual Uses: The essence of Peridot lies in its clarity and minimal color. Peridot can be an extremely advantageous stone if you are in control of your life and prepared for the future. It boosts confidence and heightens assertive energy. Peridot may work too quickly to be comfortable, however, for those with a lower level of these qualities. Peridot is in tune with the higher elements, with the natural progression of events, and the attainment of spiritual truth. It can help one to visualize not only the ultimate peak of physical but of spiritual continuation as well. It is a visionary stone, helping connect one to one’s destiny and to an understanding of the purpose of existence. Peridot emits an energy that is warm and friendly. It can be used to cleanse and stimulate the heart chakra and solar plexus chakra. This can bring openness and acceptance in the intellectual pursuit of matters of love and relationships. Peridot is used to attract love as well as to calm raging anger. It is also useful to soothe nervous energy and to dispel all negative emotions. It can also be used to magnify the inner aspects of any situation or circumstance, furthering the understanding of those changes that are occurring in one’s life. It assists one in the recognition of the detrimental patterns that have been the basis for impairment in attaining that which is necessary for growth. It is a great stone for helping to regulate cycles in one’s life (physical cycles, mental cycles, emotional cycles, intellectual cycles, and life cycles.) Peridot can help to heal a “bruised” ego, assisting one in the lessening of anger or jealousy and inspiring happiness within the self and delight in the nature on one’s life. It provides for a shield of protection around the body and should be removed from one’s person prior to balancing and aligning the physical body with the other bodies and prior to cleansing chakras other than those related to its color. Upon the completion of balancing, alignment, and chakra cleansing, the wearing or carrying of Peridot will prevent outside influences from affecting the aligned, balanced, cleansed structure. Peridot can be used to bring results to one’s search—the seeking and recovery of that which is lost or mislaid in the physical world, as well as the quest for the enlightened state.
Physical Uses: Peridot is an excellent healing stone. It acts as a “tonic” to both strengthen and regenerate the body. It can be used in the treatment of disorders of the heart, lungs, spleen, and intestinal tract. It can also be used to strengthen the eyesight in conditions of astigmatism and nearsighted-ness, and it can be used to provide relief from, and to provide for the healing of, ulcers of the stomach and duodenum. It has been used also as a facilitator for the birthing process, stimulating contractions and facilitating the opening of the birth canal. Peridot releases toxins and brings them to the surface, thus neutralizing them. It helps also with mental cleansing by highlighting problems. The stomach and other digestive tract organs may benefit from Peridot. It also stimulates tissue regeneration, and is said to promote healing of insect bites and to help in liver ailments. Because of its calming effects on the central nervous system, Peridot is also helpful in promoting sleep if worn to bed.
