What are Affirmations?

Affirmations are words of power that have a healing effect on those who use them. Words truly do have the power to heal, and they can change your life. The Universal Church of Metaphysics invites you to explore the spiritual healing power of affirmations.

Topaz

Description: Topaz crystallizes in the form of water worn pebbles and prismatic crystals. It is sometimes found vertically striated and sometimes with well-developed terminations. The most common Topaz has a radiant yellow color, but it can also be found in shades of green, blue, and brown, as well as pink, green red, gold, yellow, blue, white, red-yellow, brown, gray, and colorless.

Location
: It has been found in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Sri Lanka.

Astrological Sign
: Sagittarius, Leo, Aries, and Gemini

Spiritual Uses: Topaz can promote creativity and individuality, while providing for confidence in trusting one’s decisions. It is known as a “stone of true love and success in all endeavors,” and can help one to replace negativity with love and joyfulness. Its radiant yellow color is stimulating but in a way that is very mellow. Topaz sends out its golden rays of energy in all directions, and one should think about this ability to send out rays of warmth and light when using Topaz. The rays are soothing, healing, and life-giving. The stone has a benevolent nature and sends out its positive energy to all who need it. This mineral helps one to understand the interrelationships occurring in the minute detail which comprises the “big picture” and the actions occurring in “the big picture” itself. It helps one to feel comfortable with the potential outcome of a situation without “doing” and promotes the expression of ideas, instilling a trust in the universe. It can also assist one in “cutting-through” the curtains of uncertainty, promoting astute reasoning abilities and the release of feelings of annoyance stemming from doubt. The energy of Topaz acts through the laws of attraction and manifestation, serving as a catalyst for the manifestation activities. The vibratory resonance acts with an ethereal magnetic effect. The ends and facets of a Topaz crystal provide both positive and negative energy currents, which is quite different from the action of Quartz. These alternating currents are linked via the ethers to the forces of manifestation through which attraction and desire are promulgated. The Topaz acts as a conductor for messages when a request is directed through the Topaz to the object or to the thought form that is desired. The stone sends the message to the ethers via a closed circuit of current that penetrates the energy field related to manifestation. The message then gets relayed to the universal mind, which, in turn, refines the information and assures that the intent is for the good of all. This happens before the transmission is sent directly toward actualization on the physical plane. The energies of Topaz transcend both time and space, inducing finely-tuned cooperation and rewards which grow from the idea which one desires to manifest. Topaz is a “crystal of potency,” and is quite instrumental in visualization (for healing and attracting), in meditation, and in projection. It can help one to absorb that which is needed from the universe, prompting receptivity and willingness to act. It enhances awareness and induces states of expansiveness and manifestation, as well as helping one to creatively change one’s personal world.

Physical Uses: Topaz is good for those who are in crisis or in need of motivation. It is another gemstone that is used for protective purposes, and is considered a specific against envy, intrigue, disease, injury, sudden death, sorcery and negative magic, and lunacy. It was thought to be especially effective when set in gold and bound to the left arm. When worn, Topaz relieves depression, anger, fear, greed, frenzies, and all disturbing emotions. It recharges and increases the user’s energy level. It can be used to manifest health and to correct disorders within the body. It has been used in the treatment for the loss of sense of taste, and in the healing of wounds and skin eruptions. Used as an elixir, Topaz is excellent for dispersing the energy throughout the entire body. It can be taken internally and used topically. The elixir is used to direct the visualized state of well-being to the area desired. Topaz is also used as a charm against fire and accidents when placed in the home. Put in under your pillow to fend off nightmares and end sleepwalking. Topaz is used to regulate the digestive system and to relieve the pain of rheumatism and arthritis. It has also been worn for weight loss. Wearing a Topaz is also said to draw love. Topaz may be used in a silver wand and provides an additional conductor to both transmit and activate that upon which there is conscious focus. Consciously directed to the psychic channels where the health aura can be accessed, the energies projected from the Topaz crystal can modify and alter the atoms of this area. This usage can aid significantly in the removal of “useless” elements within the aura, making room for expansion and reconstruction to occur. The alternating current of the Topaz crystal working through the silver wand provides for an additional conductivity factor that amplifies the force field, allowing for the maximum utilization of the potential energy.

History: St. Hildegard recommended the use of Topaz to cure dimness of vision. The stone was supposed to be placed in wine and left for three days and three nights. After this time, the patient was to rub his or her eyes with the moistened Topaz so that the moisture lightly touched the eyeball. The wine could be used for five days after the stone was removed, presumably to be drunk by the patient. This piece of historical lore is one of the first references to the use of gem elixirs. A Roman physician in the fifteenth-century was reported to have wrought many wonderful cures of those victims of the plague by touching plague sores with a Topaz that had been owned by two Popes, Clement VI and Gregory II. The fact that the stone was owned by two pontiffs must have added much to the faith of those exposed to its curative powers. The African bushmen consider the Topaz to be quite precious, using it in ceremonies for healing and for connecting with the spirits who have departed from this plane. It is considered to bring wealth and health to the holder.

Different Types
:
Blue Topaz is affiliated with the signs of Sagittarius and Virgo and can additionally stimulate the throat chakra. This helps one to consciously, succinctly, and clearly verbalize that which one desires to manifest and/or that which one desires to communicate. It assists one in bringing the body, mind, and spirit into union with the forces of the perfection of the universe. It helps one also to be unburdened by arrogance and unconfined by passion, allowing one to see all things as equally important in the overall scheme of life.
Golden Topaz is affiliated with the signs of Sagittarius, Leo, and Pisces. It can be used as a path to conscious attunement with the rational principle that rules and governs this universe. If one intends to attune to this “structure,” the reasons behind the communication need to be clear and concise. Golden Topaz can be used like a battery if one needs to be recharged with energy. It acts also as a repository stone that stores information, as well as energy, thoughts, and love. It can be quite useful for stimulating and activating the first three chakras and the crown chakra. It can be used also to enhance relaxation, to create lightness of spirit, and to stimulate feelings of peace. It can be used to attract people toward its user for friendship or business, and one must be careful that this is not used for selfish purposes. Sometimes those wearing Golden Topaz become so busy with the mundane that there is little time left for the sacred. The stone can act to initiate faith, however, and to further the quest for the enlightened state. It can be used in the treatment of disorders of the liver, gall bladder, and endocrine glands.
Multi-colored Topaz is good for all signs of the zodiac. It brings the qualities of the individual colors to synthesis and further assists one in the re-direction of energy and in the analysis of one’s own patterns of emotional thinking and development, based on free associative ideals. This reveals to the conscious mind the thoughts and experiences previously unrecognized, and stimulates remedial action for emotional disturbances and over-emotional states. It provides for smooth states of meditation and enhances mental travel to other parts of the current world. It can also facilitate trance states that take the user to the pre-determined destination, stimulating a total awareness (at that location) to both recognize and to understand the nature of the visit. It can be used in the treatment of pneumonia, to clear the mucous from the lungs, and to provide for the stabilization of the inner walls of the lungs. It can also be used to treat chronic inflammatory conditions of the skin, assisting also in the efficient conversion of carbohydrates to energy. It also regulates the proper flow of insulin to the blood stream.
Sheet Topaz is affiliated with the sign of Leo and occurs in a horizontal flat formation. Its color ranges from clear to white to very pale blue and very pale green. It combines the properties of Topaz with the actualization of knowledge, bringing a window to other dimensions. It promotes the access of information from the astral plane and the akashic records, allowing one to see within the inner self. The action of looking within the self with the Sheet Topaz has allowed one to recognize disordered states and to mentally rearrange and reorganize the disarray of disease. It has the ability to stimulate the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the third-eye, and the crown chakra, and is an excellent tool for communication between the self and other worlds. It can be used also to stimulate visualization and visionary experiences and to actuate the higher psychic abilities. Sheet Topaz has also been used for “gazing” and for sending and receiving messages. It can be used to stimulate contact with the ethereal planes of resolution, and in the meditative or non-meditative state, answers to problems of all magnitudes seem to manifest quickly. It has been used in the treatment of disorders of, and for pain in, the throat, the heart, and the back of the head. It has also been used to relieve headaches.
