Introduction
To heal a house is to heal the energy it holds. I share with you my own opinion and experience, but please keep in mind that I am basing this on a Spiritual Non-Religious point of view. I will touch base on some religious viewpoints both good and bad, but in no way am I suggesting that a certain religion is needed in order to help heal a home. I do use the references to healing, cleansing, parenting and higher power methods, but the only differences are the techniques used in these methods. All of them are trying to achieve the same goal by converting negative energy into something positive.
Here is the problem: Most people who discover what they perceive to be paranormal events in their homes, due to religious background, automatically jump to conclusions that it is evil. They panic, thinking they need an exorcism, and fear for their lives. However, anger is extremely rare. I have experienced many mean or angry spirits, as if their personality was very much still intact but I personally have never once come across anything demonic or even close to what I would consider to be of pure evil.
So wouldn't it be possible that negative energy, sticking to our homes, may influence our moods and cause unneeded stress, spooky feelings or even depression? You bet it is possible, it happens all the time! However, most people have not figured out how to fix this. Fortunately, times are changing and we are coming to the conclusion that we can indeed stop this from continuing to happen. People no longer need to be effected by this specific problem if they learn more about it before jumping to conclusions.
No human can have power over another life force, so we cannot force malevolent ghosts to leave, even though we may try to convince or trick them to move on. What stops them from coming back? We are out of luck if the ghost does not want to go, right? That may be what we thought before, but more awareness in today's era has revealed to us now that there are better ways to go about this problem.
Be aware that there are people who claim to be able to force a ghost to leave permanently, but that should indicate a red flag because it is impossible. Even the Roman Catholic Church will not guarantee anything when they attempt an exorcism for what they feel is a demonic presence.
The fact is, people all around the world are living with enormous fear. Their own chosen religion has led them to believe that demons are amongst them and persuading them toward a so-called devil. However, this isn't a debate on whether religion is right or wrong. The fact remains that fear is a real problem with people of all religions regardless of their belief system, but, there is a way that we can step in and help people who are desperately seeking a way to stop feeling frightened and lead a normal life again.
I am not teaching anyone how to force a ghost to leave. I will teach you how to go about ways to possibly convince the ghost to move on or find peace, and then perhaps the ghost will leave as a result of his or her own free will. This is Ghost Psychology or Parapsychology.

Review Of Literature
What The Bleep Do We Know? Discovering The Endless Possibilities For Altering Your Everyday Reality (2005) iswritten by William Ants, Betsy Chasse, Mark Vicente and Jack Forem. This book about Quantum Physics iswritten by a team of specialists in many different yet similar fields. It opens your eyes to reality.
Influence: Science And Practice (2000) was written by Robert B. Cialdini, a psychologist who placesemphasis on mixing science and psychology while putting it to good use.
Crossing Over (2001) was written by John Edward, a famous TV psychic. This book is written from theperspective of a psychic expounding on what has worked for him. I incorporated his cleansing house theory andthen added what I thought would cover the bases even more.
Amazing Power Of Deliberate Intent: Living The Art Of Allowing (2006), written by Esther and Jerry Hicks, explains perfectly how to use Deliberate Intent to obtain everything and everything you have ever wanted andneeded. They channel all their information and it's uplifting and brilliant.
Law Of Attraction: Basics Of The Teachings Of Abraham (2006), by Esther and Jerry Hicks, was also createdby channeling. When I was reading this book I realized that we do indeed create every single aspect of our lives. We can change it in a blink of an eye if we try hard enough. We can indeed attract everything we experience asreal. It's astonishing what you will choose to create after reading this book.
What Dreams May Come (1978), by Richard Matheson, is a fiction/fantasy book, which in my own opinionis only classified as that because science cannot back it up. This movie explains so much about how I really feel itis to be a Metaphysician. This book was actually turned into a movie and I highly recommend it for anyone whowants to view another man's thoughts on what the afterlife could really be like.
Channeling For Everyone (1997) was written by Tony Neate. There is nothing like communicating withspirits to help them even more, as well as giving you an inside look on what might have happened to make themlinger. I suggest reading this book just so you can make sure you channel it properly.
Destiny Of Souls (2000), by Michael Newton, PhD touches a little bit on our soul's destiny, possiblereasons behind hauntings, and case studies on past life regression subjects under hypnosis. This book is acontinuation of Newton's first book, Journey Of Souls.
Reiki: The Healing Touch (1998) was written by Lee Rand. There is nothing like the healing energy of Reiki. This book explains about our natural life force energy, something we all have, and placing intent with it to healthe world. This book explains it all.
Conversations With God: Book 1 (1996), by Neale Donald Walsch, actually saved my life. I was extremelydepressed and didn't feel loved. I felt alone. When reading this story, I realized that everything I felt inside wentalong with everything he was saying. This book was channeled by Neale and he did a fantastic job at explainingthings in a spiritual, non-religious way.

Why Heal A Ghost?
Wouldn't you want to be healed if it were you? After all, we will all eventually experience leaving thisphysical world and it does take some time to adjust to being non-physical. What if you didn't realize you passedon and you were trying to carry out your normal duties? Place yourself in the shoes of the ghost, and chances arethey were once human like you.
Some of the reasons why ghosts linger are that they were not ready to go, or were waiting for a lovedone. Maybe they experienced physical or mental abuse, or other illnesses and they do not mentally realize theyare free. Perhaps they are lost and do not understand what is going on, or have not realize they have died. Eachand every case is different. Just think of how many people there are on earth, and that is about how manydifferent cases we would have currently. These earthbound ghosts carry a low vibration that keeps them close toour earth realm. When we offer love and support, we actually help them raise their vibration, as well as our own. This heightens their awareness and they are able to think for themselves again, instead of being stuck in a rut, orconsciousness loop.
People jump to conclusions and assume that negative personalities mean a demonic presence ishappening. In the book Conversations With God (1996) Neale Donald Walsch explains a theory on how purenegative energy is impossible. Both positive and negative energy must be present in order to exist. He claims tochannel all his information directly from God. He also claims that even god is negative and positive, male andfemale. The point is that we cannot have good without bad, or vice versa. So it would be impossible for an entityto be purely negative, a demon. Some Christian based religions would describe a malevolent ghost as beingdemonic instead of simply describing it as having a mean personality. The use of such harsh words scares people. If they only understood that there are mean humans, who become mean ghosts, then they wouldn't automaticallyclassify everything with a negative personality as a Demon.
All matter is energy, and energy can be compiled of atoms, which in turn are built of three particles,Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons. It simply doesn't work if one particle is missing. The Electron is Negative, theProton is Positive and the Neutron remains Neutral (which is considered the binder). Our existence is built of thissame structure, plus a lot of intelligence that comes from a higher source. This higher form of intelligence is nodifferent than what we are created of but we cannot comprehend everything while still in physical form. I suggestreading What The Bleep Do We Know? Discovering The Endless Possibilities For Altering Your Everyday Reality (2005)written by William Ants, Betsy Chasse, Mark Vicente and Jack Forem. This book is all about the quantum physicsof energy, matter, time travel and concepts of God.
It is not my intent to debate about religion and belief systems, so I wish to keep it simple by teaching howto mentally convert negative energy into positive energy for healing purposes. Regardless of religion this is goodfor both humans and ghosts. It's also very important to understand that free will governs over each and every oneof us. It is when a soul's energy is wounded that it is stuck in a state of confusion, forgetting they have alwayshade the choice to come and go as they would have normally done so. A great way to understand this was clearlywritten in the novel What Dreams May Come (1978) by Richard Matheson. Although this book was classified asfiction / fantasy, it seriously hits home with the same concept and theory of what most Metaphysicians feel. Themovie is also available on DVD.
I believe it is quite possible that with a jolt of higher vibration from our own energy, this wounded entityis then able to clear its mind enough to realize it has lingered around long enough and is no longer attracted tothe low vibration it has become accustomed to. The best thing about raising the vibration of a wounded soul isthat even if it stays, it will have less negative energy affecting its state of being, and this alone is both helpful andrelieving to all parties. It's possible these methods of healing can remove negative remains with the right steps. Agood book to read while mixing psychology and science is Robert B. Cialdini's book called Influence: Science AndPractice (2000).

Methods Of House Healing
In reading about methods that are used, please understand that there are literally millions of ways to healand raise the vibration of energy. I am going to only discuss four specific ways that have worked for me whentrying to get rid of a ghost that is causing the current home owners to become uneasy with their normal way oflife. You may want to cover several different methods so chances are that one of them its home and grabs theghost's attention. The fact is, we may never know if it worked or not until a while later, but most of the time thehome owner will always let us know. Always do a follow up.
Although these specific methods are unclear to most ghost hunters who are purely scientific, they don'trealize they can help more than they know. This is changing as the days pass. It used to be that most ghosthunters were only validating these paranormal events, but they were not really helping the client much. However, they have the potential to do so much more with just a little effort.
Ghost hunters can multi-task by helping the home owner, the ghost, and personally gaining in gatheringscientific documentation. Here are the methods that have worked so far in some cases.
- Method 1: Cleansing
- Method 2: Healing
- Method 3: Parenting
- Method 4: Asking for help
Method 1 is what John Edward calls "cleaning house." As he describes in his book Crossing Over (2001), tospiritually cleanse a house you must actually clean it. He describes physically cleaning it with cleaning solutionsand trash cans, which makes sense to me. As we clean, with the intent to spiritually clean, the two actually workhand-in-hand while killing two birds with one stone. He says to physically start in the closets and get rid of all thejunk while mentally getting rid of negative leftover dust which is his way of describing old energy that has builtup over time. While his way may be true and may work to some extent, what happens when we have a ghostwho loves to be tidy? I know many people who were extreme neat freaks, as I would nick name them, and theirghost liked it!
Cleaning the home of a client is not meant for the actual ghost hunter; it's for the home owner to do.Many will clean their house before having ghost hunters come and do their thing. However, many do not. Theyfeel the need to leave things the way they were, in fear we wouldn't be able to obtain evidence if they changedtheir routine, which may be true according to John Edward's cleaning theory.
Personally, there is no way I am going to physically clean someone else's home during an investigation,or after. They may choose to hire some help, but I do not offer house cleaning services! So Method 1 is not anoption for myself, but I do suggest the home owner do this, before I get there, or give this method a shot on theirown afterwards.
Method 2 is my favorite and what I base this entire course on, which is actually healing the home. Sure, it'sgood to cleanse the home for many reasons like hygiene and safety, but add healing intent and you now have thekey to actually help home owners who are scared. Your goal as a ghost hunter is to document paranormal activityand to help them, but unless you know how, it's not really doing anything but confirming to them that yeah, there is something going on. Good Luck! That simply isn't good enough.

Channeling & Ghost Healing
We now know that ghosts need healed but, what if they don't realize that you are talking to them? Therecould be more than one, or maybe you just didn't get their attention. Let's step back and remember they are "us"in the different form. A way to connect with them is through channeling. Tony Neate explains in his bookChanneling For Everyone (1997), how anyone can connect with these beings. Perhaps channeling with them will tellus exactly how we can help them, or at least get names, so we can talk directly to them. Channeling has been amajor contribution to many books written by the likes of Esther and Jerry Hicks as well as Neale Donald Walsch, whose books all came from the information which they channeled. Reiki also channels its healing energy, soanyone who uses Reiki will have an edge. Maybe the ghost can give information on how we can help them. Youjust never know.
Channeling is a ghost hunter's perfect tool, for gaining the best possible results. Never attempt to try thiswith out first learning how to do it properly, which is why we suggest Neate's book on this awesome subject.Once learning to channel, it will become easier the more you practice. There are tons of good books andinformation on channeling.

Techniques
As I step you through the process of how to heal a house, I want to remind you of items that you maywant to get. Among your list of things to get for house cleaning are white sage, white or purple candles, sea saltor any other things that you feel comfortable using. Divination tools seem to work well. The most populardivination tools are below, but use them with caution.
Ouija Board
While I am not against the use of Ouija Boards personally, I will advise against it during a ghost huntonly because the beliefs of the majority of people who have thought it to be connected with evil or demonicvalues. If the home owner is religious at all, he or she will have an automatic fear or panic feeling over the use ofthis board. We do not want to induce fear at all, so steer clear from anything that the clients may fear. You mayask them first if they have ever used one and what happened. This will give you an idea of what they think aboutthem as well as give you an idea of their religious feelings, if you didn't already know.
Pendulum
I feel this is similar to the Ouija Board, and both are considered divination methods. But the pendulumhas never gained the negative fear with its name. Since just about any object may be used, including healing typesof crystals, it's a great choice for trying to communicate if your channeling skills are not quite ready. It's small, easy to travel with, and easy to use. This form of divination is also a way to connect with your own psychicsubconscious. Your subconscious will involuntarily tweak your muscles, while it indicates answers without yoursubconscious being aware that it's coming through you, which can be another method of channeling.

Step By Step Techniques
- Ok, you are in a client's home that you suspect something negative is present. After and during your normalinvestigation, you try to channel for a name. Let's say you picked up on the name, Janet. Now you have majorstep in the right direction. You are now ready to start your healing process.
- When using items like candles or sage, incense or anything similar, let's remember that those items work as aritual, and the ritual in this case is a repetitive thought of healing intent! Basically that is it, in a nut shell. Sodon't use the word "ritual" in front of the home owner; it may induce fear. Just tell your client that theseitems are your reminder tools to keep our focus on our healing intent, if they ask. Remember: The toolsthemselves to not carry any power without your thought creating that power.
- You are going to light your candle, and clear your mind. Speak out loud, or in your thought, both workequally. When working with more than one person, speaking out loud helps others keep their train ofthought with you. The more the merrier, we want many to channel this healing thought; it will grow withintensity.
- Form a circle in your room, with the candle in the middle. One person says: "This candle is for Janet, I light itwith LOVE on (today's date). I light this candle for Janet today so as it burns, she may be healed with lovethat is ever healing. This candle represents the white light and is warm and brilliant, filled with love. Let thislight for Janet grow and fill the room." (Ask Janet to come into the room if she isn't already there). Then say,"As this candle burns, more and more love will fill the air." Imagine the candle's light filling the room, thenthe house, then the block, then this side of the earth, imagining it then connecting to all there is. Ask for allspirit guides to join in and help illuminate this energy that is not just coming from the candle, but everyone inthe room. Imagine yourselves being the source itself and healing ALL negative or hurt souls, just in case"Janet" is not the right name, or there are others. All are invited to your healing session as long as they havehealing intent.
- Now light your sage wand while using the smoke as a healing energy that you have energized. Say the namethat you got and today's date, in this case we used the name Janet. "Janet I heal you today and forward." Mayyou be free to love again and move on to do anything you want. You are free!" "Feel our healing energy oflove and no longer feel pain or loneliness." Walk around the home with your sage wand and outline alldoors, windows, vents, heaters, etc. Say, "No negative energy shall enter into this home from this point on."Picture the smoke leaving a permanent layer of energy that will transform any negative into positive uponpassing through it. This smoke acts like a transformer. You can go through all the rooms, or just the roomswhere the problems have occurred.
- When you are done with the sage wand, it will be safe to snuff the candle. But it's important to say, "Let thishealing light continue to work, regardless if we blow out the candle." For it's now automatic and the healingenergy is still growing. Say it once again, "As I blow this candle out, its energy will still continue to heal andlove all those in this home."
- Sprinkle sea salt all around the outside of the home as you are leaving. Or at least in front of the doors, whilepaying close attention to the entrances. The intent for this is to keep any additional negative energy out of thehome. This is added protection so other mean spirits stay away.
- Explain to the home owners that they may wish to relight the candle, and go through the same practiceanytime they wish, but it's not necessary to leave the candle burning or leave it unattended.Remember: Repeating this process only makes it stronger and stronger, so you may choose to repeat thewords that you use several times. The rule of thumb is to do it in 3's. Others do not have to use the same wordsthat I used in this lesson, but I suggest that they be similar with the use of today's date, the name you picked upon, and repetition of love and healing intention is most beneficial to not only the ghosts, but humans as well.

I have several reports of successful healings. These specific ghosts seemed to have moved on. One mostrecent case was a woman who had children ghosts. I did an investigation, channeled the names and just let thehome owner know the name I picked up. I explained to her these four methods and Method 3 seemed to be theone that worked for her. We did do the healing session while I was there, but the ghostly children were stillmaking themselves known. They normally do not mess with the homeowner's kids, but this time the ghostlychildren were attempting to play with her children and it scared them badly. The kids all ran out of the housecrying. Although I am sure the ghosts had no intention of hurting the human children, it still scared them. Thistime the mother got angry and set her foot down. She used today's date out loud, called out the names at which Igave her and said, "Enough is enough, I have had it. You will leave us alone, now! You are, and have alwaysbeen free to stay or go, but from now on you will leave us alone." She said it with lots of emotion and anger. Sincethat moment, she has yet to experience any more signs like she had grown so used to experiencing. "To this day,it feels like they moved on. They are gone," the mother said to me.
In my own home, I had a ghost of a cat that would climb into my bed every night. I had grown used tothis cat, for it's the only cat that I was not allergic to. So I didn't mind the company. My husband felt the cat onseveral occasions too, so it wasn't just in my mind, but one morning, I was in a meditative state and the cat wasaround, I felt it so I decided I would try to pet it. When I looked over where I felt it, I actually saw this cat for thefirst time. It was a gold tiger cat, medium in size and I went to pet the cat and it scratched me. I yanked back verysurprised and I then yelled at the cat, saying, "HEY, I wasn't going to hurt you, I just wanted to pet you and giveyou love." At that point, the cat then turned into a little girl, at which I was then able to have a completeconversation with. Here I came to find out that this little girl was hanging around because she was afraid toleave. She thought she wasn't allowed to go. She said, "My master wouldn't let me leave." I told her that hermaster was now gone, that is was the year 2004, and she was free to leave anytime she wanted and that she wasbeautiful and should smile, laugh and dance about freely. From that moment on, it was like she was set free dojust dance and play and twirl around as if she had never been able to do it before. She had this look on her face asif she had smiled for the first time in her life. Then she was gone... I will never forget that ghostly cat that onlystayed in that form, because that is how she felt accepted and safe. I then remembered her telling me that hermaster's wife had liked cats, but didn't like her. Somehow, I broke through to her realm and let her know thecurrent date and told her that I wouldn't hurt her, but wanted her to be happy as well as free to come and go asshe pleased. She chose to go. I miss my cat now, but I am extremely happy that this child's soul has healed andmoved on.

It's all in the intent, so the more your purpose is to heal and love, the more it will. Ghosts do move onbecause they heal and want to go to their real home. This will not force them to do anything against their ownwishes but will let them use their own free will to decide. If it doesn't work, there is a deeper rooted problem thatneeds to be uncovered or just repeated until enough love has healed the biggest of problems. Most our earthlyproblems are very mundane and mean very little, to nothing, in the spiritual world. Until the earthly personalitylets go of being human, it still lingers but will eventually move on.
It's not up to us to always heal a ghost, they are there for a reason, and do have spirit guides that willeventually get through if we don't. We offer our love and support and they may use it, or choose to ignore it. Weare just giving them that option. What we must remember is, they will only be there for a little while and willeventually move on themselves anyway. What may seem like a few years to us, may be only a few minutes tothem. Since we cannot comprehend a timeless world, we have to just imagine that a few years is nothing to alleternity.

Summary & Conclusion
With our minds creating positive thoughts and healing intentions, not only can we heal ghostly energy oflost souls, but we can heal our own negative build up as well. This isn't just for ghosts, but for all of us in allrealms of existence. It has little to nothing to do with religion so it's safe to do, regardless what faith you believein. However, if you truly believe in demonic forces, you may want to consult a spiritualist to do this for you.Your own fear will stop you from being able to help someone else.
One must have a positive frame of mind with nothing but love and healing thoughts, in order to performhouse haling correctly. However, it shouldn't hurt anything either even if you aren't a pro yet. It's a very safemethod to use and will not cause harm to anyone. It may indeed help to boost the healing process for the ghost tomove forward to whatever the next destination should be. This doesn't have to be with any specific entity, person or ghost; just energy. For instance, the residual left over energy from every fight, argument, disagreementor negative thought could still be lingering around. Even if your home does not have a ghostly presence youwould still benefit.
So my conclusion to all this is that not just souls need this, but indeed the home itself. It too is made up ofenergy, like all matter, and harbors negative leftovers. So let's clean house, and heal with love!
