Dyer makes the point that telling others your stories of woe reinforces a self image of the unfortunate victim, the consequence of which is to keep you from advancing spiritually. The reliving of pain every time you repeat unpleasant events perpetuates the body's weaknesses and prevents healing. You cultivate an image of being unworthy and maligned, and this is what is sent out into the universe. The energy created will inhibit you from attracting love and bliss into your life. By accepting forgiveness you fill yourself with love, and, conversely, that is the energy you offer the universe. You radiate that love outward to all when you let go of the venom and resentments that were engendered by the behaviors that caused the wounds.
