The device consists of two plates of glass with a dycanin dyed liquid between them. Dicyanin is a coal tar dye. Some say that a subject's aura can be seen through the screen, while others say that one must look at a bright light first, and then look at the subject through the screen.

There have been several doctors in the past years who have used this technology for discerning illnesses in their patients and diagnosing their condition.
