Prayer of St. Jude
O most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
the church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless
cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and
alone.
Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you,
to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come
to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation
and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings,
particularly (state your request) and that I may praise God with you and
all the elect forever.
I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor,
to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully
encourage devotion to you.
Amen.
The Peace Prayer of Saint Francis
“O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is discord, harmony.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sorrow, joy.
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.”
Prayer of Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997)
Give us a heart as beautiful, pure, and spotless as yours. A heart
like yours, so full of love and humility. May we be able to receive Jesus
as the Bread of Life, to love him as you loved him, to serve him under
the mistreated face of the poor. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
