Fruitarianism

(This is an excerpt from a University Of Metaphysical Sciences course at www.umsonline.org, please feel free to visit the school website)

This is a diet that consists of the fruit of plants. This includes fruits such as oranges, apples and also seeds, nuts, squash, peas, and other such foods that contain the reproductive part of plants. Fruitarians often believe that this type of diet is the original diet of humans and thus the most natural one. There is a question, however, of whether fruitarians receive enough B12 in this type of diet.

Vegetarianism is a healthy alternative to meat or red meat. Nutrition will benefit you and your health will benefit you. History will tell you that the pro s and cons of vegetarianism are many. There is no need to be anti vegetarian. Frutarianism is a special type of vegetarianism in which people enjoy fruit instead of all plants. Fruits are the most life friendly speaking from an evolutionary standpoint; they do not even kill the plant that produces them. The disadvantage of fruitarianism is getting sufficient protein, although some plants do produce protein in their fruits. The statistics suggest vegetarian food typically also is lower in bad fats or omega-6s and higher in good fats omega-3 and others. Cooking using a vegetarian recipe is ideal. There are tons of interesting ways to incorporate protein into your diet. A vegetarian meal will probably be less nutrient-dense than meat.
