Palm Healing For Healing Patients
(This is an excerpt from a University Of Metaphysical Sciences course at www.umsonline.org, please feel free to visit the school website)
Traditionally
it is advised to practice the self healing aspects of Reiki for a long
time before advancing to giving other people Reiki. However, in the modern
forms this old philosophy is beginning to be abandoned. Health concerns
seem to be more important to some people than traditions and Japanese
taboos. This course will include the modern information about palm healing
as a health practice.
When practicing palm healing, the practitioner must remember that Reiki
is the art of channeling universal energy through his or her body. The
practitioner should never use his or her own energy to heal. In fact,
when done properly the practitioner should also feel the benefits of Reiki
after a session because when channeling Reiki, the Ki is not only healing
the patient but simultaneously healing the practitioner as well.
Palm healing can be used on anyone at any time. Beginners should start by practicing on family and friends before addressing the general public. It is easier to relax, give and receive Reiki in a tranquil environment. A room where Reiki is practiced often will become charged with Reiki and this charge will assist the healing process. There is no age limit to who can give or receive Reiki, in fact, children often learn to give Reiki quicker and can receive more of its effects than adults. Animals and plants can also receive the benefits of Reiki. Some are more perceptive to Reiki than others. Often, disbelievers will not feel the benefits of Reiki as much as devoted believers. There is also no limit to the amount of Reiki one can receive. So spread Ki far and wide, but with respect.
