What are Affirmations?

Affirmations are words of power that have a healing effect on those who use them. Words truly do have the power to heal, and they can change your life. The Universal Church of Metaphysics invites you to explore the spiritual healing power of affirmations.

Types Of Ki

(This is an excerpt from a University Of Metaphysical Sciences course at www.umsonline.org, please feel free to visit the school website)

From a traditional Japanese perspective, Reiki is always flowing through everything and it is an art that can only be taught with attunements by a Reiki master. Because Reiki is always flowing through everything, some students take this concept too far, believing that anyone can learn Reiki by reading an article online and then they can do Reiki while watching their favorite TV show. Likewise, some masters who struggled for years to master the Japanese tradition of Reiki, feel as though no one should practice Reiki without receiving attunements and practicing specific techniques for 21 days (meanwhile the master may be charging outrageous prices. It used to cost $10,000 to get a Reiki attunement. Now it only costs $100 - $200))

It is true that Ki is flowing through everything. This Ki may help your aches and pains heal but will most likely not fix a broken bone or a cure disease. Ki is the universal energy, everywhere, all the time. It is both the energy that keeps the world revolving and the energy that one receives from food. Ki is simple. The art of Reiki is more complex. Before one tries to understand Reiki, first one must develop an understanding of Ki.

Ki can come from many sources. Therefore, there are many different types of and names for Ki. The Chinese have developed many categories for Qi. Ted J. Kaptchuk wrote a book about Chinese Medicine called The Web That Has No Weaver (1983) and though it contains the principles of Chinese medicine, instead of Japanese, it explains the same universal energy with the name Qi. The first category, “Normal Qi” has three sub categories, which deal with birth, air, and food. The most primordial type of Qi is called “Original Qi,” which is the Ki you are born with, and have innately; it is also called “Prenatal Qi.” The very act of conception, growth, and birth contains more Ki than almost any other physical act. This Ki is with you from the moment of conception to your death (and possibly beyond.) The air you breathe is full of Ki, sometimes called “Natural Air Qi.” Food is another form of Ki, which is called “Grain Qi” by the Chinese, but the Ki energy in food can nourish much more than a simple calorie can give.

Beyond “Normal Qi” there is also “Organ Qi, Meridian Qi, Nutritive Qi, Protective Qi, and Qi of the Chest or Ancestral Qi,” according to Kaptchuk’s book The Web That Has No Weaver (1983). Therefore, Qi keeps the body’s temperature constant, keeps the organs in place, keeps the blood and Qi flowing properly, helps transform food into nutrition, protects the body from illness, and regulates the breath and heartbeat.

There are many different components of Ki that can be cultivated within the body. These are called “The Three Diamonds” by Bronwen and Frans Stiene in their book The Japanese Art Of Reiki (2005), which are “Earth Ki, Heaven Ki, and Heart Ki.” It is believed that the Ki in the Earth and Heavens created all things in the universe when these dual components united. Earth Ki is the Ki of the body, while Heaven Ki is the Ki of the mind, so it is when the body and the mind meet that all creativity emerges. To balance these opposite forces there must be a center point, which is called Heart Ki. These are the major components of Ki that forms of base for Japanese Reiki as well as for Japanese culture, religion, and philosophy.

These types of Ki or Qi should be acknowledged so that the air one breaths, the food one eats, and the environment one basks in is clear, pure, and clean. Nevertheless, one should not mistake the Ki that swims through our days and lives constantly as the art of Reiki. Ki is what Reiki is based on and what makes it what it is, but Reiki is an art that goes beyond these basic principles of Ki. In the beginning one must practice moving, cultivating, and playing with Ki until one is ready to advance unto using Reiki as a healing art.

Reiki has universal energy, universal energy is not a corporation. Energy life reiki universal is a life group for healing and to heal martial arts. Martial arts center of healing has meditation spirituality for a meditation in spirituality, institute, or medicine plant practice. A medicine plant is a great medicine used by a shamanic witch. Look into a shamanic witch academy.
