In the late forties and early fifties there was a seeming influx of reported human interaction with extraterrestrial races. Philip Corso, Sr., in his book The Day After (1997), claims that he was given the job to effectively "cover up" the UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. Since that time, there has been an extremely comprehensive strategy in place to make people who witness such events doubt their perceptions to the degree that they, and others, would question their own mental sanity. To the creators and perpetrators of this strategy I say, "Congradulations, you have been successful!"

According to a 2002 Roper Poll, two-thirds of Americans believe that the government has had contact with extraterrestrial (ET) life forms and has covered up that contact. The percentage of people who believe this information goes up according to level of education. The implication is that any thinking human being would conclude that since there are over 100 billion stars in the Milky Way, and 500 billion to on trillion galaxies in the Universe, there are probably many other intelligent life forms in creation, both more advanced than Earth humans as well as less advanced than Earth humans (although at times this is hard to imagine.) This conclusion added to the thousands upon thousands of accounts of sightings of ships and interactions with other life forms points to a truth that Earth has been, and is being, visited and humanity is already in contact with our extended family of life from the stars. Many of these accounts are from highly credible government and military witnesses with top security clearances. Only one of the thousands of these stories needs to be true to make the cover up version of reality a falsehood.

Where are the two-thirds of Americans who say they believe in these things? In the years that my growing desire to understand creation, life, evolution and the nature of God have led me to investigate these phenomena, I have observed myself experiencing inordinate amounts of fear and anxiety related to "people finding out" that I believe in, am researching and studying ET intelligences. How and why this successful strategy to discredit witnesses of ET presence and experiences will also be explored in this work.

Another effective strategy designed to disempower human beings through fear is the effort to present only information and images that lead to a xenophobic (fear and hatred of people from a foreign place) feeling toward beings from other planets, galaxies or star systems. The word "alien," which simply means strange or unfamiliar, has come to be associated with feelings of fear and mistrust, thanks larglely to representations in movies, books, and tabloids. Common to our language phraseology are references to "being attacked by aliens" or "being eaten by aliens" or fearing that "an alien will pop out of my stomach." As a way of defusing this strategy, the beings and groups we will be discussing in the course will be referred to as extraterrestrial (ET) or extraterrestrial intelligence (ETI).

The CE5 Initiative, referring to Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind, is a category that defines human initiated and guided contact with ET intelligences. This initiative is an effort to take humanity to our next step in developmental, psychological and spiritual maturation. It is time for us to stop "waiting for them to land on the White House lawn" and become proactive for our own future and the future of our children. We have the opportunity to take responsibility ourselves for our relationships with other civilizations and not wait for agencies or authorities to dictate to us how we must think and what we must believe and how we will behave. It is time for us to step forward as citizen diplomancy groups and forge alliances that will further the cause of humanity's, and therefore all of creation's, evolution into a higher consciousness. Since the government has consistently refused to acknowledge and disclose the truth of these relationships with the ETI to date, there are citizen diplomacy groups that have taken up that responsibility. The research by these groups and the techniques and processes found effective for successful contact and communication will also be presented in this course. With this information, we are given a choice to determine if and how we would like to be related to other life forms and other worlds. These choices involve wisdom, discernment and empowerment. Are we ready? Is it time? It is up to us to decide. We are the ones we have been waiting for, and inevitabley, it is up to us.

The field of UFO research and extraterrestrial contacts and motivations is as vast and varied as the Universe itself. What I have condenced into this course is the result of my own research and the information that I have found to be the most credible and complelling. I have used my discernment in compiling this information. Discernment is an absolute necessity when working with these phenomena and the mountains of conflicting information currently in circulation.

My tip on discernment is simply this. Truth feels good in my body. When I hear the truth, like beautiful music, my heart expands, I feel warm and inspired. Falsehoods cause my body to constrict. My gut clenches and my muscles tense. I feel anxiety and fear. We have been told repeatedly "we will know the truth and the truth will set us free." I am here to create Heaven on Earth. I seek information and truth to assist me in this endeavor. If any information creates a sense of freedom within me, I call that information the truth for me. However, I do not impose my idea of the truth on others, nor do I respond well to others attempting to impose their truth on me. I respect my brothers and sisters and strive to co-exist in mutual honoring of differing points of view.

Review Of Literature

The authors most referenced and drawn upon for the information in this course and their works are as follows:

A groundbreaking work in 1988, Timothy Good's Above Top Secret, represented 20 years of research. In the author's own words, "It proves beyond doubt that there has been a monumental cover-up of the UFO subject, and it includes a wealth of hitherto classified material which is published for the first time (e.g., documents from the CIA, FBI, Defense Intelligence Agency, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Intelligence and Naval Intelligence.) Until Timothy Good filed suit under the Freedom of Information Act, most of the agencies named above had denied being involved in UFO research. But the documents quoted in Above Top Secret (1988) prove that these agencies were being economical with the truth in their denials. The book shows that tens of thousands of additional documents are still being withheld in the name of national security, at a classification level that is two steps higher than information about the hydrogen bomb. This book is for the rational skeptic, as it gives evidence that there is life on other planets and that ET aircraft has occupied the earth's airspace for many, many years. Timothy Good is one of many examples of intelligent, passionate people who have dedicated their lives and risked their careers to bring us the truth.

As mentioned above, Col. Philip J. Corso (Ret.) rocked the cover up world with his book The Day After Roswell (1997). This book claims to end the decades old controversy surrounding the mysterious crash of an unidentified aircraft at Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. Backed by documents declassified by the Freedom of Information Act, Col. Corso, a member of President Eisenhower's National Security Council and former head of the Foreign Technology Desk at the U.S. Army's Research and Development department, has come forward to reveal his personal stewardship of alien artifacts from the Roswell crash. He reveals how he spearheaded the Army's reverse-engineering project that led to today's: integrated circuit chips, fiber optics, lasers and super tenacity fibers.

In a taped interview I saw at a conference, Phillip Corso, Sr., explained that when his grandchildren asked him what he did in the military, he made the decision that they deserved to know the truth. What he also realized was that he had faith in this coming generation of bright and intelligent beings, that they would know what to do with the truth. I have found him to be a very credible source and his information to be compelling.

Dr. Michael E. Salla is a pioneer in the development of exopolitics, the scholarly study of the political implications of an extraterrestrial involvement with Earth that is not acknowledged to the general public, elected officials nor the mass media. His interest in exopolitics evolved out of his academic study of the sources of international conflict and its relationship with the undisclosed extraterrestrial presence. In his groundbreaking book Exopolitics: Political Implications Of The Extraterrestrial Presence (2004), he has presented the first scholarly framework for understanding the political implications of the extraterrestrial presence. I resonate with Dr. Salla as a person of the highest integrity. I am continually impressed with the depth and completeness of his research. His teaching career has been put in jeopardy because of his involvement in this topic, and yet he continues to push on. In this field of many conflicting opinions, beliefs and egos, I find Michael Salla to be an intelligent, open minded and generous researcher and reporter of the most recent, comprehensive evidence and information.

The courage of all these people to persist, in the face of threats and attempts to discredit, is inspiring to me. Dr. Steven Greer gave up a lucrative medical practice to pursue full disclosure of ET presence in the early 90's. His book Disclosure (2001) presents volumes of evidence in the form of testimony and documents that prove the government's involvement with ETI. In Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence And Implications (1999) he expands into the areas of researching close encounters of the fifth kind, conclusions from that research regarding why ETs are here, what the implications of disclosing this knowledge to the world might be and how the world will change once the truth is known. I have been personally trained by Dr. Greer in his CSETI (The Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence) as an Ambassador to the Universe Program. The purpose of this program is to prepare humans for citizen diplomacy with ETI using an informed, organized and intentional approach. Dr. Greer has also briefed President Clinton's first CIA Director, key members of Congress, UN leadership and very senior Pentagon officials at the highest level of the military, among others.

Another tireless researcher into the truth, David Icke has written many books describing what he has found in terms of secret government activities and agendas that include ETI. In his book I Am Me, I Am Free: The Robot's Guide To Freedom (1996), he uses humor and insight to expose the mental and emotional prisons that billions of people build around themselves, prisons which allow a tiny few to control the direction of the world. I really appreciate David's work, because his ultimate message is that when we, the people, are willing to see the truth of how we are manipulated through misinformation, then humanity as a species can be free. The only power any outside force can have over us is their ability to make us afraid, or to make us believe that we are powerless.

Similar in ways to Dr. Steven Greer, James Gilliland devotes his life to researching human initiated contact with ETI. After a near-death experience in 1979, he gave up his fast paced lifestyle to devote himself to understanding the spiritual and metaphysical. He currently lives on property in Washington State that he calls Sanctuary, and it is a hotbed of UFO activity. He invites many people from all walks of life to the Sanctuary to experience the feeling of love and awe that results from "contact." His intention is that the Sanctuary be a conference center for the coming together of humanity and ETI. In his book Becoming Gods: Prophecies And Understandings Concerning The Past And Future Destiny Of Humanity And The Earth (1996), he shares information received from Higher Intelligence about the plight of humanity from the off-Earth perspective. I am always interested in James information, as I find him an intelligent and heart-centered human. I am proud to have him represent humanity in citizen diplomacy efforts.

Zecharia Sitchin is considered by many to be the foremost authority on the information gathered from the transcription of the Sumerian texts. This information challenges established notions of Earth and life on it, suggesting the existence of a superior race, the Anunnaki, who once inhabited our world. The 12th Planet (1976) is the product of thirty years of intensive research and is the first book in Zecharia Sitchin's prophetic Earth Chronicles series. According to this work, travelers from the stars arrived eons ago and planted the genetic seed that would ultimately blossom into a remarkable species called Man.

In his book Communion (1987), Whitley Strieber gave voice to a phenomenon apparently experienced by many and spoken about by few. The whole issue of "abduction" continues to be widely debated. I appreciate Whitley's work as he has, and continues, to take a researcher's point of view. What is the purpose of people being taken onto ships? Is it truly against their will or is it by some form of agreement? Are the "abductors" without emotion because they are ill intended or because they are simply doing a job akin to a lab technician in a hospital? Why do those taken remember some and not all of what takes place? Why does the experience tend to run in families? His book describes his experience, along with those of his family, of events that began in 1985. He also describes hypnosis as a therapy helpful in retrieving memories and putting the experience into some kind of perspective so that people can move on in their lives.

Leah Haley is another one of many who have subsequently worked on understanding their experiences through writing and lecturing to the public. In her book Unlocking Alien Closets: Abductions, Mind Control And Spirituality (2003), she brings in the question of military simulated alien abduction experiences. As is true of most people reporting these types of experiences, Leah is an extremely credible witness. A CPA with two masters' degrees, she has undergone extensive psychological testing to demonstrate that her memories are not coming from a psychotic state or a disturbed mind. The only diagnosis that has been given is Posttraumatic Stress Disorder resulting from the trauma of her experiences. It is so impressive to me, the kind of persistence these witnesses demonstrate in the face of a society, whose first assumption is always to accuse them of lying. It makes me wonder what is so compelling that people would face the type of ridicule and cruelty they face at the hands of their fellow humans in their attempts to help wake us up?

It is clear to me that in order to understand UFO/ETI phenomena we must be more able to understand the energetic make up of our world. Lynne McTaggart's book The Field: The Quest For The Secret Force Of The Universe (2001) seeks to prove scientifically what ancient myth and religion have always espoused: there may be such a thing as a life force. In this book she reveals a radical new biological paradigm, that on our most fundamental level, the human mind and body are not distinct and separate from their environment but a packer of pulsating power constantly interacting the this vast energy sea. This picture of an interconnected Universe is very important and helpful in attempting to grasp our relationship with all life in every place.

Although this review could encompass a countless number of sources, I have chosen to include an author/ lecturer/ healer who has profoundly and personally affected my life. Dolores Cannon has written twelve books to date reporting on information she has received from subjects in the deepest state of hypnosis, the somnambulistic state. In this place, the conscious mind is totally out of the way and the Higher Conscious can respond and teach. Dolores specializes in past life regression and through her work she has accessed information from many sources including Nostradamus and ETI. In her book The Custodians: Beyond Abduction (1999), she uses twelve years of research to give information on the following: missing time, spacecraft from other dimensions and places of existence, condensed or distorted time, Alien and Government cooperation and bartering, purposes and locations of implants in the human body, screen memories, beings composed of pure energy who transform into various physical appearances, the differences and functions of various alien races, and reasons for abductions and various genetic projects. She believes that her passion for bringing information back to humanity stems from a past lifetime of her own in which she was one of the guardians of the information in the Library of Alexandria when it was destroyed. She is a 74-year old woman who lives in the Ozarks and she makes it very clear that she is not a psychic or a channeler. With her ever-expanding understanding of the metaphysical nature of the Universe she prefers to refer to herself as a time traveler. Dolores is adamant that UFO investigators will never truly understand the nature of ETI until these metaphysical truths are understood. Her simple, frank nature and passion for information have produced a profound body of work that is a tremendous service to the process of the awakening of humanity.

And for a beautiful odyssey into the wonder of the UFO phenomena I recommend Freddy Silva's Secrets In The Fields: The Science And Mysticism Of Crop Circles (2002). This book uncovers the mechanism behind crop circles, who makes them, why they are here, and why they are debunked. It shows how crop circles are connected with subtle forces, electromagnetism, gravity and acoustics, and techniques our predecessors utilized in pyramids and Gothic cathedrals to create transcendental states and conditions for healing. It examines how they coincide with ancient predictions, from ancient Egyptian texts to the Book of Revelations. It explores how crop circles may be altering the very DNA of living organisms on Earth, how they are part of a cyclical exchange of energy and matter that underscores the rhythm of ecocycles, of evolution, perhaps the history of humanity itself. If you want to really treat yourself, take a break from study and just let the images flow over you. You will be giving yourself a gift.

A Description of Different ET Races

As stated in the introduction, we will be using the terms Extraterrestrial (ET) and Extraterrestrial Intelligences (ETI) in this writing, as opposed to the word "alien" to divert away from a negatively charged stereotype.

Try this exercise: During the normal course of your day, choose some random people to tell that you are taking this class. First, experiment with telling people that you are taking a class about "aliens" and see how they respond. Notice facial expressions and body language as well as verbal response.

Next, try telling people that you are studying "extraterrestrial intelligence" and watch the difference. Usually people will stop and think a moment about what they have just heard. It may catch them off guard as they realize what you have said. Many times people are just shocked that someone is saying it out loud. It will usually not be an immediate slam into a preconceived, well-rehearsed judgment or reaction. You may even find yourselves having some very interesting conversations.

According to Michael Salla, PhD. There are dozens of extraterrestrial races, with a variety of motivations that are interacting with global humanity. When we think of our extraterrestrial brothers and sisters it is helpful to remember that they are probably similar to our human brothers and sisters, diverse in appearance, family background, culture, intelligence, spiritual development, experience and agenda. Dr. Salla states, "Extraterrestrial motivations span the spectrum from 'benevolent' activities aimed at uplifting humanity towards a fuller expression of its collective potential, to manipulative activities designed to undermine human sovereignty."

There is very reputable evidence that there have been secret contacts and agreements on an official level between Government agencies in the United States and elsewhere for at least 50 years. These agreements have taken place without the knowledge of most citizens and elected officials. The working-group formed as a result of these agreements is referred to by Dr. Salla as the Military-Industrial-Extraterrestrial-Complex (MIEC).

Two categories have been identified by Dr.Salla as a way to identify and classify the various extraterrestrial races that are known to humanity through various modalities. He describes one group as the ET races that are "cooperating with the Military Industrial Extraterrestrial Complex (MIEC)" and one that is "outside the Military Industrial Extraterrestrial Complex."

The following is a listing and description of six races of non-benevolent extraterrestrials that are thought to be working with the MIEC. These groups are responsible for the negative stereotyping that has been promoted for purposes of fear and separation, and have been generalized to all ET groups.

The group that has become very well known through experiences of abductees is called the Short Grays. This group is from Zeta Reticulum and Orion. They are associated with activities such as genetic experiments, mind programming, monitoring humans through implants, cloning and creation of human-Gray hybrids. The problems resulting from this group's activities are the trauma caused to humans and the altered behavior and thinking that results in fear and loss of personal sovereignty. A common mistake that is made by the general population is to group all ET races and activities into this most generally reported group. If we let our information about ETI stop here it is akin to stopping our education in kindergarten.

The Tall Grays are from Orion and are reported to oversee and direct the activities of the Short Grays. They are responsible for the secret agreements with human elites and are thought to be manipulative and untrustworthy.

There is a group of Indigenous Reptilians said to live in underground cities inside the earth. They are thought to be a group that manipulates human elite institutions and financial systems, influence religious belief systems, militarism and the removal of the true history of human civilizations. These activities result in human rights abuses, elite corruption and domination, control of the media and corporations, and influence divisive religious dogma. The divisive religious dogma is often used as the basis to manipulate war and a culture of violence.

Another reptilian race is the Draconian Reptilians from Alpha Draconis, who are also involved in controlling human elites, institutions and financial systems, militarism and creating a climate of scarcity, struggle and insecurity. They are seen as not only manipulating humanity, but also the grays and Earth Reptilians. Their activities lead to concentrated global wealth and poverty, corrupt elites and institutions, ethnic/religious violence, human rights abuses, a culture of violence and terrorism, drug trade and organized crime.

The Sirians from Sirius B are noted for participating in technology exchange programs that promote military cooperation with potential extraterrestrial threats. This group's activities have lead to covert weapons, black budgets and militarism as a way of life.

In competition with the Draconians for the control of Earth are the Anunnaki from the planet Nibiru. This group is thought to have been involved in controlling long-term human evolution through elite groups, systems and institutions and the manipulation of human consciousness. Their manipulations have resulted in religious fundamentalism, a patriarchal global culture and a culture of violence.

"On February 20, 1954, a delegation of 'human looking' extraterrestrial races met with the Eisenhower administration in an unsuccessful attempt to reach an agreement on the U.S. thermonuclear weapons program. The apparent stumbling block was that these extraterrestrials were not willing to provide technology that might be used by the military-industrial interests that dominated the Eisenhower administration and set the tone for subsequent extraterrestrial-human dialogue. The principal opposition of this group of extraterrestrials to being co-operative with the emerging military-industrial-extraterrestrial complex (MIEC) marks an important indicator of a large grouping of 'human extraterrestrials' who lie outside of the web of interlocking interests that make up the MIEC in the U.S. and elsewhere on the planet."

Because this second group of extraterrestrials is primarily human in appearance they can easily integrate with human society. You may have met them. According to Alex Collier, whose work is referenced by Michael Salla, there are a total of 22 races that have provided genetic material for the "human experiment." These more benevolent, spiritually advanced groups are thought to view humanity in much the way a loving parent might view an Adolescent son or daughter in a dangerous environment.

Dr. Salla explains that there are two parts to the following groupings of benevolent extraterrestrials. The first have historically inhabited Earth in hidden underground areas and are thought to be remnants of ancient human civilizations that have followed a separate evolutionary path from surface-dwelling humans. The second group has "off world" origins but have such similar human features as to be able to easily intermingle among humanity without easily being identified.

Reported to dwell inside a highly advanced environment inside of Mt. Shasta, California are the Telosians, from the city named Telos. Their main activities consist of helping surface humanity learn of its ancient Earth history, restore human longevity, change unhealthy belief systems and protect the environment. They are said to be totally telepathic and most would have difficulty being on the surface for any period of time, as our thoughts would hurt them. (Just imagine what our thoughts are doing to us!)

A group coming from Lyra, the Lyrans, are working to disseminate the unique history of the human race in the galaxy and are assisting in intergalactic understanding of human motivations and potentials. They are helpful in diplomacy and conflict resolution.

Reportedly originating from a planet that orbits one of the seven stars in the Pleiades, the Pleiadians are helping humanity find freedom from oppressive structures through consciousness-raising. They are interested in universal human rights, participatory democratic systems, evolution of human consciousness and global education. Many humans find themselves in close alignment with these very ideals. The Procyons, from Procyon, work to promote effective resistance to extraterrestrial subversion, develop multidimensional consciousness; use mental imagery to protect us from ET mind control and monitor unfriendly ET activity. They care about ending global secrecy of ETs, deprogramming mind control, universal human rights and internet global communication. They may have inspired the quote, "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Similar to the Procyons are the Tau Cetians, from Tau Ceti, who are exposing ET subversion and control, identifying corrupt elites and institutions, and dealing with militarism. They are another group who believes that when humanity has access to the truth, we will have the opportunity to rise to our potential, which is limitless.

From Andromeda, the Andromedans facilitate decisions of the Galactic community in dealing with the current Earth situation. They provide innovative strategies for resolving conflict and are particularly interested in helping humans learn how to educate and support the psychic/crystal children arriving on Earth.

From the binary Sirian stars, the Sirians from Sirius A are in the benevolent ET group. They assist humanity in building a suitable ecological system for our evolution on Earth by altering the "bio-magnetic energy grid" of the planet. In doing this they are promoting bio-diversity and the evolution of the biosphere.

The planet Ummo is claimed to be 14.6 light years away and its inhabitants, the Ummites, have covertly shared technological information that can be used to transform scientific paradigms. They are helpful in developing alternative technologies and education reform.

The Alpha Centurians are said to be concerned with promoting justice at a global level and human freedom. They provide safe sanctuary for humans threatened by the shadow government.

And finally on this list are the Arcturians who are concerned with the important task of integrating spiritual values with advanced technologies. They promote global governance through the integration of global financial, political and social systems.

The extraterrestrial groups described in this section are meant to provide a beginning consideration of the variety of groups, cultures, beings and motivations that have and still are affecting the very fabric of our being. This list is not meant to be considered conclusive, absolute or final, as we shall see.

Exercise: If there is any group that you know of or have experience with that is not listed, describe it in your journal or on a separate sheet of paper now. Try to determine from what you know of this being or group, which category previously listed that they would fit into or which groups described in this section they might be similar to.

Theories Of The True History of Humanity

As we have seen in the description of several of the benevolent ET races in the previous section, there is an interest by some groups in revealing the true history of humanity.

According to Alex Collier, whose information comes from being contacted by the Andromedans, the Reptilians, Grays and Anunnaki described in Group One, along with many of the benevolent ET races from the second group, are parts of the 22 different contributors to the genetic material of who humans are today. He says we are "possessors of a vast gene pool consisting of many different memory banks...Because of our genetic heritage and because we are spirit, the benevolent extraterrestrial races actually view us as royalty."

Because of this unique "human experiment" there is much Universal attention focused on us at this time. Will we remember who we are in time and take our place as valuable contributors to evolution of consciousness with the other members of our galactic families? Why has our true history been repressed and will the truth finally and ultimately set us free? Does anyone else think that the mythological stories of the Greek Gods who were jealous, angry, vain, controlling and punishing may be true accounts of advanced races visiting Earth and interfering with humanity? If, in fact, humanity has been evolving on and off planet for billions of years, all the archeological finds of advanced civilizations, appearing and disappearing as far back as the Earth has existed, can be taken out of the category of "anomalous" and moved into the category of "evidence" of our awe-inspiring history, progression, digression and evolution.

Zecharia Sitchin's work to interpret the Sumerian texts has led to a series of books beginning with The Twelfth Planet that describes the history of the Anunnaki from the Planet Nibiru and their conflicts and conquests played out on Earth. The Anunnaki have been described as fierce, conquering, deceitful and misogynist. The word "Anunnaki" literally means "those who came from heaven to Earth." Some have said that the Anunnaki are the actual authors of the Old Testament.

David Icke in I Am Me, I Am Free (1996), suggests an interesting proposal. He says that every time in the Old Testament where you see the word "God," assume the literal translation is "gods." If "gods" refers to extraterrestrials (beings who are advanced and so appear "godlike" to humans), as opposed to "God," referring to all consciousness, all energy, everything that exists, the difference in interpretation is profound.

For me this possibility answers many of my questions about how God behaves in the Old Testament, smiting, punishing, demanding blood sacrifice, obedience and worship. I have never been able to reconcile this "God" with the all-loving creator of life. But he does sound like the description given of the Anunnaki.

One of Dolores Cannon's subjects in hypnosis describes Earth as a planet that is an experiment in creation. She said that the planet was originally created as a vacation spot, a place to come and experience beauty and sensual pleasures not found on other planets. The first ETs came here with the purpose of helping to uplift humans in consciousness, but when they got here they were seduced by the power that humans bestowed upon them. They allowed themselves to be seen and treated as gods, and instead of succeeding in their mission to uplift humanity, they instead were pulled down in consciousness into duality and negativity. This was seen as a dismal failure to the original plan, and the creators of the plan have been trying to find ways to rectify this ever since. Instead of sending whole groups to Earth, they decided to send individuals with messages of love and oneness to seed humanity in a certain direction. Then these messengers would leave before they could be negatively affected by the lower frequency of the Earth.

It would be such a relief to me to stop pretending that we don't know how Stonehenge or the Pyramids were constructed or how an entire Mayan civilization disappeared in an instant, as if they went up in a spaceship or ascended body and soul into a higher dimension.

In an article by Rick Sedona, SKYWATCH Regional Director, titled "Old Records Found in Caves Describe UFO Visitors 12,000 Years Ago" (August 12, 2004) he reports on archeological finds in caves that border China and Tibet. While studying skeletons buried in the caves in 1938 a stone disc that resembled a "Stone Age gramophone record" was unearthed. Spiral groves of closely written characters were etched into the disc that was labeled and filed away. For twenty years all efforts to translate the hieroglyphs failed, until Dr. Tsum Um Nui broke the code and started to decipher "the speaking groves." The conclusions on the meaning of the disc were so shattering that they were officially suppressed. When permission was finally given in 1965 for the translation of the records, then numbering 716 also discovered from the same cave, to be released, they told an amazing story of a space probe that came to grief in the Banyan Kara-Ula mountain range. The spiral script told how the peaceful intentions of the "aliens" had been misunderstood, and that many of them had been hunted and killed by local tribes.

One of the lines of the hieroglyphs read, "The Dropas came down from the clouds in their aircraft. Our men, women and children hid in the caves ten times before sunrise. When at last they understood the sign language of the Dropas, they realized that the newcomers had peaceful intentions."

The information told that there was no way for the Dropas to build a new ship and return to their own planet. Legend still preserved in the area spoke of small, gaunt, yellow-faced men who "came from the clouds long, long ago." The walls of the caves being studied showed crude pictures of the rising Sun, the Moon, unidentifiable stars and the Earth, all joined together by lines of pea-sized dots. Along with the discs, the cave drawings were dated 12,000 years ago.

Exercise: As an exercise in discernment of truth, allow yourself to take time after reading the above account. Be still, go within and ask yourself, "How does this information feel in my body? Does my heart and mind expand or contract when I consider this story? Do I feel warm or cool? Are my muscles tense or loose? Do I hear any tones or sounds?"

No one can tell us our truth. Truth can only be recognized.

Government/Military Involvement With ETI & The Cover-up

There exists a shadowy Government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of the national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself.

According to Dr. Steven Greer, Extraterrestrial Contact (1999), secret meetings with ET races began in the 50's with President Eisenhower. When he was leaving office he realized that the government was being shut out of the loop and the agreements were being controlled by compartmentalized groups of what he called the Military Industrial Complex or the Military Industrial Extraterrestrial Complex (MIEC).

Secret agreements are subsequently renewed every nine years, according to Burnish who had access to classified documents detailing the existence of such agreements. The information from these meetings continue to be highly classified and off limits to even the most senior elected officials, including even Presidents Reagan and Carter.

The meetings with Eisenhower have been mentioned in the section describing the two groups of ET races. According to Michael Salla, Exopolitics (2004), the first group to meet with the president in the 50's offered help in monitoring the management of our nuclear weaponry. Because they refused to offer advanced technology, knowing that the technology would be used for destructive rather than constructive purposes, their offer of help was refused.

Eisenhower then met with the group who offered technology in return for rights to study humans through amnesia-shrouded abductions and mining Earth's resources. Lists were to be provided and numbers limited. Apparently many of the agreements made have not been honored by this group of ETs. The representatives of the US government had no recourse with which to enforce these agreements. When two-term Republican US President and 5 Star General Dwight D. Eisenhower left office in 1961 he issued the following warning:

"In the council of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together."

This statement alone is at least worth a question.

Phil Corso, Sr., The Day After Roswell (1997), describes his role in the official military/government cover-up of the actual events that took place in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. Col. Corso served in the Eisenhower Administration and headed the Foreign Technology Desk at the US Army's Research and Development Department. In his later years he chose to break his secrecy agreement and become one of many to "blow the whistle" about experiences that eventually felt too wrong to keep from the public. In a video interview taped with Col. Corso before he died I remember him talking about his decision. As I mentioned in the introduction he said that when his grandchildren started to ask him what he did in the military he realized that the children deserved to know the truth. And not only did the children deserve the truth, he believed that these bright, inquisitive, intelligent, capable children would know what to do with the truth. Since then, I have heard many other "whistleblowers" who are risking job security, personal ridicule and outright persecution say that they are doing so for the sake of the children. Many of these people held high security clearances and in their careers they were entrusted with the most sensitive, volatile information of their time. Their plea to us is, "You trusted me then, you must trust me now."

When I first began investigating the numerous claims of the cover-ups of what I considered to be extremely important information I remember feeling angry, that righteous indignation of one who has been lied to. I felt confused and didn't understand how anyone could truly justify withholding the truth to this degree. What began to become clear for me was how the process of compartmentalization of "top secret" information evolved. At first, many involved in suppressing information were told that the American people couldn't tolerate the truth. The war had just ended, things were stabilizing and the economy was booming. The rationale for the various strategies to keep information secret was that the public couldn't handle the truth. It would panic, worry and traumatize the public. Many of these good people believed that they were protecting us. For some of them, it wasn't until years later they began to see that they themselves had been deceived to further the purposes of the MIEC. This led many people into "The Truth Shall Set Us Free" Mode.

Dr. Steven Greer in his work with the Disclosure Project has assembled more than 400 of these high level witnesses to video tape their statements about their experiences with ET phenomenon while involved in the MIEC. In May of 2001 he gave a press conference in Washington D.C. Media from all over the world attended this event in which 20 of these witnesses gave statements about their experiences and also their willingness to testify under oath in front of Congress about the truth of their words. One of the witnesses, while telling how he mistakenly saw pictures taken of a base on the far side of the moon, naively ran home expecting to see information of such magnitude on the evening news.

He did not see his testimony or any of the press club conference on the news anywhere. Dr. Greer at the same time of the conference sent a letter to the administration calling for "full disclosure" of the truth to an American public who had had 50 years to stabilize and prepare for the reality of life on other worlds. Four months later we had the events of September 11th and the public has been kept in a state of fear and powerlessness ever since. Information is power. For some reason, we are not to be allowed the official verification of information that could absolutely, fundamentally change the way we look at ourselves, our world and our Universe.

Here are a few of my favorite testimonies from that day.

Dr. Carol Rosin, former spokesperson for Werner Von Braun, was present at a May 9th Press Club Conference in Washington DC to testify that the early space pioneer warned of the dangers of space-based weapons and the covert programs were planning to eventually justify them by manufacturing a threat from outer space which does not exist.

Numerous corroborating Air Force and other military officers presented their testimony establishing that Strategic Air Command and other nuclear facilities have repeatedly been visited by UFOs. Lt. Col. Robert Sallas, Lt. Col. Arneson and Col. Ross Diedrickson, among others, have testified in taped interviews with the Disclosure Project that US and foreign nuclear facilities have been visited by extraterrestrial vehicles that apparently are concerned with human warfare and weapons of mass destruction. While not being hostile themselves, these UFOs apparently have shown US authorities that they are quite concerned with our nuclear weapons and on at least two occasions have rendered multiple Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles temporarily unusable.

Karl Wolfe, an Air Force military Sergeant who had a top secret crypto clearance saw photographs taken by the Lunar Orbiter that clearly showed artificial structures on the Moon prior to the 1969 moon landing. His testimony is independently corroborated by Air Force security officer Larry Warren who saw film footage of UFOs and structures on the moon during a debriefing at Bentwaters Air Force base in England following a UFO landing there in 1980.

Debunking And Discrediting Witnesses

In my research I have come across witnesses and contactees who have retracted their stories. Some have disappeared from public (and maybe private) view. Alex Collier , as referenced by Michael Salla, claimed to have been contacted by a race from the constellation of Andromeda and was disseminating information through a popular website and public lectures before being visited by a group of Navy Intelligence officials who intimidated him into silence. Apparently Collier was releasing sensitive information despite the government's position that since the closure of Project Blue Book, no government agency is actively investigating the UFO/extraterrestrial phenomena.

Beginning with pilots and other military personnel who had experiences of interacting with craft and witnessing things they couldn't explain, the strategy of "psychological warfare" against witnesses and experiencers has been quite successful. In the military, people were not only threatened with their careers being jeopardized, they were actually made to question their own perceptions in light of their mental stability. In my experience as a psychotherapist, I believe that to cause a person to doubt his own reality it is the most damaging thing that can be done to a person. Not only will his perception of his current experience be questioned, but all future perceptions as well. This strategy can lead people to hide thoughts and experiences in a way that cuts them off from intimacy with loved ones, the world and themselves. People who are not mentally unstable at the time of the experience can become unstable as a result of this strategy. The more unstable they become, the more they begin to discredit themselves.

When David Icke speaks of how humanity (he compares us to sheep) have been controlled and regulated, he talks about how it would be impossible for any outside force to monitor every one of us on the planet. The strategy has been to get us to monitor each other. This has been accomplished by teaching us to fear each other's judgment and observations. We effectively now keep each other in check and inside the box through this insidious and very effective strategy. An example of this would be, for instance, the societal rejection of anyone who steps outside of the norm, or anyone who questions the norm.

When Jim Adair, a retired commercial pilot, told me his story I was highly affected by his integrity, intelligence, passion and innocence. As a 23-year old 1st Lt. in 1959, he was flying a B47 at 30,000 feet on a training mission at night over the Nebraska-Dakota area. From his canopy perched atop the plane he and his co-pilot were awestruck to find a cigar-shaped luminous craft flying alongside them. Their navigator immediately asked them if they could see anything, as he had picked it up at the same time on his radar screen. Never feeling any fear, they began to interact with the craft. They sped up. It sped up. They slowed down. It slowed down. They changed altitude. Regardless of their maneuvers the craft continued to stay right with them "as if it was playing with us." Then, in the blink of an eye, the craft appeared on the opposite side of the plane, and they continued their game. Jim said his only fear the whole time was that it would go away. After approximately 20 minutes his fear came true. In another blink of an eye, it was gone.

Jim noted that this time frame was only a year or two after Project Blue Book, the military department formed to "investigate" sightings, had been formed. He said that of course he knew of other pilots who had had experiences and that the paperwork procedure was tedious and voluminous. But this was not the concern for the disciplined military men. Their comrades who had got through this reporting process were obviously being scorned and punished in the aftermath. Promotions were denied, the worst assignments given, repercussions that would obviously be devastating to a career military man, dedicated to providing for his family.

"We were of one mind," Jim said of he and his crew. This experience would never be publicly shared. On the surface this may seem like the easier, most logical decision for a person to make in this situation. But talking with Jim and hearing the vulnerable emotion in his voice I got a picture of a lifetime, until his sixties, of holding in an experience that profoundly changed his life. This was an experience that he might want to shout to the rooftops, but instead he held it inside to protect his career and his family. It wasn't until he happened to see a tape of Dr. Greer's press club event that he was able to burst forth onto the surface with his story. He and his wife were both crying as they contacted CSETI for Jim to proudly offer his services as "a disclosure witness."

I asked him, do you think you were somehow chosen for this experience by a Higher Intelligence? Why me and for what purpose is a question that often comes up for experiencers of Close Encounters for the rest of their lives. His description of he and his crew being "of one mind" caught my attention. It is thought that advanced intelligences operate out of a state of group mind, a more collective than individual state of being. I wondered if this crew of young, dedicated, inquisitive, fearless humans did attract this particular consciousness and experience. Perhaps their "team" mentality was easier to relate to than the more individualistic approach many humans live by. These are examples of questions of expansion that could lead us into higher, broader understanding of ourselves and our Universe. These questions should not be repressed or ridiculed, but nurtured and expressed. I am grateful to and have the highest regard for Jim Adair and all the men and women like him who have made it to a world where they can finally begin to contribute wisdom born of their experience.

Although I am not a witness, contactee, abductee, or channeler of ET information, in my small role of "interested investigator and believer" I have experienced the success of the debunking strategy first hand. I am continuously amazed at it's power and effectiveness.

Even though current poles report percentages ranging from 50-80% of Americans believe in intelligent life in the Universe, that we have been and are now being visited by beings and representatives from other planets and galaxies and that the government is keeping information about all this from us, I have found myself to be extremely reluctant and guarded about sharing my interests and beliefs with other people.

Some of the stereotypes that society puts on those who have reports of Close Encounters are:

crazy or psychotic
trailer trash with tin foil antenna on my head
gullible
a dreamer (I actually kind of like this one)
unprofessional or unscientific

Or the most confining one of all in my own head since I am a therapist:

unfit to be a mental health professional

I find myself experimenting with how, when, and whether or not to tell people. In the beginning my gut clenched, my voice cracked and my palms would sweat. Of what was I afraid? What controlled me and kept me in fear of speaking what I knew to be true?

Military and government personnel can be controlled by the threat of loss of security, stability and possibly family. The only thing ordinary people like ourselves stand to loose is each other. When we fear each other, this is an example of the societal control that I spoke of a moment ago, the rejection of those outside the norm. When we fear other people's judgment of ourselves, we are enslaved and confined to a definition of identity of which we hope others will approve. We are prone to depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, cancer, and a host of other maladies that are aggravated by stress. The stress is the fear of what others will think of us. We fear that others will think there is something wrong with us, and worse, reject us.

Freedom is living my life outside the need of the good opinion of others. Will you join me?

The Phenomena Of Abduction

In Communion (1987) Whitley Strieber tell the story of what he calls "a shattering assault from the unknown." According to his account, in the winter of 1985 he was "visited" at his cabin in a secluded corner of upstate New York, taken somewhere against his will and subjected to frightening and painful medical-like procedures at the hands of small, emotionless beings, later called "the Grays."

His memories were retrieved through hypnosis when he sought help for disturbing depression and feeling of disorientation. He also discovered that there were many other people, all found to be quite mentally competent, who were struggling with similar experiences.

Leah Haley is another person who is dealing with the trauma of her experiences by writing and lecturing. In Unlocking Alien Closets (2003) she chronicles many experiences of being taken and tested aboard spacecraft. She adds the component of realizing that many of her experiences after the initial times were actually happening on military bases. She noted that at times she became conscious enough to realize that her examiners were humans wearing masks. She has done research to confirm her memories. She also reports being harassed by black helicopters and threatened at gunpoint by military personnel during non-abduction times. She allows us to draw our own conclusions about these experiences, but she is passionate about giving her testimony so that we can consider that there may be more to the "abduction" phenomena than we have been led to believe.

Dr. Steven Greer's information in Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence And The Implications (1999) is supportive of Ms. Haley's experiences. Greer believes that because of the military's use of reverse engineering of the technology retrieved from ET crashes and encounters, that many abduction experiences can be attributed the human originated operations. The purpose of these activities would be to perpetuate an image of "aliens" (to use the xenophobic term) as menacing, dangerous and to be feared. As we have seen in our descriptions of the many and various races interacting with earth and humanity, this may very well be true of certain groups and agendas. However, when we generalize this perspective to all ETI groups, we are negative stereotyping in a way that limits and disempowers us. We are still learning this lesson on Earth, the problems that result from generalizing conclusions made about individuals or small groups of people to entire cultures or populations. One has to wonder what the purpose would be of making us afraid of our ET brothers and sisters. It reminds me of any religious organization teaching that the only access to God is through them. The message is that we are not worthy of accessing the Source ourselves and so we must have an intermediary. It seems that the MIEC may not want individual humans to access the wonder and empowerment that comes from direct contact with these beings. Perhaps they fear that we will realize how truly magnificent we are, and are becoming, and then we will be less easily controlled.

In her work with clients in the deepest state of hypnosis, Dolores Cannon, The Custodians: Beyond Abductions (1999) describes the ETs as our loving parents. The information she accesses explains abductions with yet another spin. Our ET parents, who created us, are very concerned with how the way we have treated our planet is affecting our physical bodies. Because of this they periodically bring certain ones on board their ships for testing and correction. They are actually assisting us in making our bodies mores resistant to pollutants and other damaging elements we have created. Their intention is that we not remember these experiences or that we not remember them in a way that would frighten or alarm us. She talks of their use of "screen memories" where the ETs actually project a more easily accepted image of themselves so we will feel comfortable.

She says they do abide by a code of non-interference. Just like a loving parent, they regularly provide gifts to help us evolve, gifts such as fire, cultivation of food or a Master like Jesus. Then it is up to us what we do with those gifts. They say that they will intervene if we get to the point of destroying the world, just as a parent would intervene with a teenager who was endangering him or herself past the point of no return. She laughs as she recounts how they perceive the view that they are here to take over the world. "Why would we need to take over the world?" they say. "It's ours, it always has been."

Contactees

I use the word "contactee" here to describe a person who has had physical contact with and received information from an ET or group of ETI. The perceived purpose of the contact is for that person to somehow convey the information to other humans. A contactee in this definition can be seen as a type of bridge between the two cultures, planets or systems.

There are many well-known contactees. Michael Salla lists Billy Meier, Carlos Diaz, Alex Collier and Phillip Krapf as a few.

Billy Meier was born in Switzerland in 1937. For over 56 years he has maintained a series of physical and telepathic contacts with ET beings who claim they come from the Plejares star cluster. Acting as a mediator and spokesperson for the Pleiadians from the planet Erra, Meier imparts their fascinating, esoteric teaching and wisdom to us and assists them in their monumental task of guiding Earth's mankind back to the path that we have left long, long ago.

His contacts began at the age of five. In 1975 he began a series of over 100 contacts with Semjase, a female Pleiadian. During several contacts Billy was allowed to photograph her "beam ship" during flight maneuvers. He took over 1,000 of the clearest UFO pictures that to date have ever been seen. The actual contact conversations were written down word-for-word and contain many interesting facts on Earth history, humanities, sciences and spiritual topics.

I have heard that many debunkers have tried to prove that Meier's photos, taken with a brownie instamatic camera in the 70's, were fakes. Apparently, even with modern day photographic, computer technology the effects of the images in the photos have not been able to be replicated. As his information has been available to the public for so many years, Billy has been the target of many severe personal attacks and threats throughout his lifetime.

Sheldan Nidle is a contactee whose information I follow quite regularly. He was born in New York City in 1946. His first extraterrestrial and UFO experiences began shortly after his birth and were highlighted all through his childhood by various modes of contact phenomena, as well as accompanying manifestations—light-form communications, extraterrestrial visitations, and teaching/learning sessions on board spacecraft. During most of his life, he has enjoyed ongoing telepathic communications and direct "core knowledge" inserts (etheric and physical implants). Sheldan has visually observed and experienced the interiors of spacecraft throughout the years.

Around the age of fourteen, Sheldan requested that the Sirians and their Galactic Federation of Light Allies discontinue communications with him because he was experiencing overwhelming conflict between their scientific knowledge and what he was learning here on Earth. They left, but the Sirians and their Galactic Federation of Light Allies told him that they would be back when it was time to complete his mission for planet Earth and her people. In high school he was placed in advanced science programs in subject areas such as physics, chemistry and calculus.

He went on to accomplish two masters degrees and pursue work in Doctoral studies. He did a documentary on the life of Nikola Tesla and involved himself for many years in scientific research on alternative sources of energy. In the mid-80's his extraterrestrial contacts resumed.

Currently, Sheldan is a representative and lecturer for the Galactic Federation of Light and, in 1997 founded the Planetary Activation Organization (PAO).

The Mission of PAO is:

To prepare the world for first contact with the Galactic Federation.
To spread the message of the Galactic Federation.
To establish a network of Planetary Activation Groups around the world.
To establish a short-notice global communication network on earth changes.

In short, members of this organization are inwardly guided and actively involved in awakening people to the effects of earth changes and consciousness transformation.

According to Michael Salla, "These contactees have given public lectures, written books, founded support groups and communicated with key elites, all with the purpose of conveying the information given by extraterrestrials and convincing a skeptical public of the friendly nature of these ETs. Without necessarily knowing it, these contactees were engaging in 'track two galactic diplomacy' insofar as they represented that portion of humanity described as 'awakened humanity,' people willing to disseminate the truth about the extraterrestrial presence and the implications for global humanity."

To this I might add that they take on this role in an atmosphere of intense internal and external conflict. I use this opportunity to express my gratitude to those who have been chosen for this important work and have courageously taken it on.

Exercise: Imagine what it would be like for you to wake up in the morning with information that you were absolutely convinced that humanity needed for our survival. Imagine the process you might follow of telling friends and family that this information came from an ET source and that when you follow this path it will powerfully change all their lives. Imagine the reactions you might get. Who would support you, who would help you, by whom might you be abandoned?

Imagine where you would start, what modalities you would use to get the information out. Focus on your heart and breathe. From your heart, send your compassion out to all those who have walked this path for the good of humanity. Thank them for their bravery in stepping out of the norm that society imposes.

Citizen Diplomacy And Vectoring

If there is truth in the volumes of information that point to evidence that Earth has been visited and inhabited and affected by beings from other worlds since it's inception... And if there is truth to the vast evidence and testimony of credible witnesses that there is recent past, current and ongoing interaction, exchange and agreement-making between humans and beings from other worlds...

My next consideration is this. Whom do I want to represent me and speak for me and make decisions for me in these vital activities?

Michael Salla, Exopolitics (2004) writes:

'Track two' or 'citizen diplomacy' offers the opportunity for private individuals or 'citizen organizations' to open communication channels and to develop agreements between nations experiencing diplomatic impasses and/or violent conflict. Track-two diplomacy has been shown an effective process in helping establish diplomatic relations and developing suitable conflict resolution strategies for difficult global conflicts. Extending the practice of track-two diplomacy from the global arena involving international actors, into the exopolitical arena involving different extraterrestrial races is both possible and necessary due to the long history of secrecy, hidden rivalries and low intensity conflicts that exist between ET races and government agencies. Given government secrecy over the existence of extraterrestrial races, the diverse motivations, agendas and conflicts involving extraterrestrial races and various government agencies, there is an urgent need for track-two diplomacy with extraterrestrial races, or what might be better described a 'track-two galactic diplomacy'. There is a need for private citizens to establish communications with extraterrestrial races, play roles in mediating between different extraterrestrial races and global humanity, establish track-two diplomatic relations with extraterrestrial races and assist official diplomatic relations between government agencies and extraterrestrial races or what might be described as 'track-one diplomacy.'

Dr. Salla goes on to stress that the participants in these citizen diplomacy groups should be members of what he calls "awakened humanity," as these humans have a special significance to many advanced intelligences.

"This significance is due to the expected recognition given to them by extraterrestrial races as representatives of Gaia and other sentient species on Earth. Consequently, individuals and groups practicing track-two diplomacy may enjoy greater legitimacy and authority among extraterrestrial races due to their alignment with the 'Voice of Gaia' and with the aspirations of other sentient beings on Earth. This alignment means that 'awakened humanity' are seen to have ultimate allegiance to Gaia and her sentient species and can therefore be viewed as spokespersons for a single planetary 'voice.'"

Exercise: On a scale of One to Ten, with Ten representing the most alive, alert awake and enthusiastic human on the planet, and One representing a hypnotized human couch potato, where would you rate yourself on the scale of "Awakened Humanity?"

Researchers Dr. Steven Greer and James Gilliland have been forming just such citizen diplomacy groups in recent years to research and practice what is referred to as the CE (Close Encounter) 5 Initiative.

The interactions between humans and ETI are classified as follows according to the CSETI Project Manual (1992):

CE 1 Observation of a UFO within 500 feet.
CE 2 Some form of trace evidence is obtained (landing/radar).
CE 3 Observation of a humanoid, generally but not necessarily in the vicinity or within a UFO.
CE 4 An interaction where a human is taken on board a UFO, presumably in the presence of humanoids.
CE 5 Characterized by human initiated and/or voluntary human interactive encounters. That is, encounters with UFOs or their occupants that are initiated or furthered by voluntary, direct and willful means by human observers.

Within the CE 5 category there are two degrees. A second degree CE5 encounter would be one in which a human was by chance in the vicinity of a UFO sighting and then initiated contact.

My favorite report of a CE5, second degree, happened in New Guinea in 1959. Father William Gill, along with 38 other people at the Bioanai Mission witnessed a disc-like, brilliantly lit object with four humanoids on a deck-like structure. Father Gill waved and to everyone's astonishment one of the humanoids immediately waved back. Then all four humanoids began waving. The report of the event was signed by 25 witnesses.

A first-degree CE5 is distinguished by intentional human actions that attract a UFO to an area in an interactive fashion.

In my role as a CSETI Community Representative, I have participated in several Ambassador to the Universe Trainings with Dr. Steven Greer. In these trainings we are taught how to research the CE5 Initiative through a process called "vectoring."

"To vector," according to Webster's Dictionary, is "to guide in flight" or "to change the direction of."

CSETI uses three main modalities to vector extraterrestrial intelligences, which are:

Light
Sound
Non-local mind techniques.

Through modalities such as dreams, meditation, intuition and remote viewing, group participants are taught how to initiate and receive communications from ETI regarding meeting places, times and agendas.

Exercise: Here is a sample vectoring technique.

Do what works for you to become quiet, still and focused. Begin to imagine yourself lifting above your body. Look down and see your body in relaxed meditation. Now keep going and see yourself lift above the building you are in.

Keep going — see yourself above your town or city.

Keep going — see yourself above your state, then see yourself looking down on your country, then your continent, then your hemisphere.

Keep going — until you see yourself looking down on Beloved Mother Earth, what a jewel. What beauty, what life sustaining perfection.

Keep going — see yourself now looking at our solar system, as our Earth rotates around our star, the Sun, in perfect order with the other planets.

Keep going — see yourself now outside the Milky Way, looking down on our spiral galaxy as you note Earth's position in the cosmic dance of stars and planets.

From this vantage point, now begin to look around you at the vastness of space. Take in the wonder of it all. Now begin to focus on looking for other life forms with and around you. You may mentally call to them. "Is there any being or group interested in meeting with awakened members of humanity for the purposes of Universal Peace and Cooperation?" Look around you. You may see a ship, a being or group of beings. You may feel a presence, or sense that it is enough just to give the invitation and allow a response to happen in the order of the Divine.

When you are ready, you may begin to show the way back to Earth, for the purpose described above. Turn and mentally show them the Milky Way. You are giving them a map to follow. Now visualize the Planet Earth in her position within the Milky Way. You are beginning to show them where you are from. Now show them the Earth, orbiting our Sun in position in our Solar System.

Mentally show them a picture of the Earth so that they can enjoy and appreciate the beauty of Gaia. Now bring them closer and amid the landmasses and oceans, show them the continent that you are from and from which you began this journey. Now show them your region...country...now your state...now your city. Keep vectoring as you mentally lead them to the point of origin from which you intend to facilitate the meeting with yourself or the group of humans that are working with you. Thank them for their willingness to consider your invitation for the highest good of all concerned.

Now bring yourself back to the consciousness of your body and your present surroundings. Focus on your breath, feel the life force circulating through your physical vehicle.

As you open your eyes, it is with the excitement and anticipation of putting on a great welcome party and wondering who will show up!

Another vectoring technique is to ask to be shown/told in your dream state when and where your ET family and friends would like to meet with you. Dreamsharing is an important element of vectoring in a group, as it is common for one person to receive the image or name of a location and someone else to receive a date and time. The request for this information is made often during the vectoring experience and especially when falling asleep at night. The sharing of the information received in dreams at these times will often yield wonderful encounter experiences.

Once a meeting place and time is decided upon, then the fun begins (make sure you are warmly dressed and have good chairs to sit on!). Hopefully, it is a remote area away from city lights and activities, after 8 pm on a moonless night. When you arrive at the site, you can begin by just observing the sky. Determine ahead of time the pattern of the stars, lights that originate from the surrounding areas, what an airplane strobe looks like and what a satellite or shooting star experience is like. Once you get familiar with the regular phenomena in the night sky it is much easier to be aware of anything out of the ordinary.

With chairs in a circle (for a group), so that all vantage points are covered, a meditation such as the one given above can be done, or any other group method to send out a message of invitation, intention and readiness.

The CSETI groups use laser lights to signal our position. It was found that ships were often sighted at rock concerts and mall openings where strobes and spotlights were being used. The conclusion was that either ETI is attracted to these types of lights, or that they were trying to teach us that this is a way to get their attention. Once there is visual contact with a ship, then the laser lights can also be used to signal. A certain pattern of dots and dashes can be sent with the lasers so that the ships can repeat the sequence back. Contact!

Another modality that is used by CSETI groups is sound. Tapes have been made of tones and sounds during previous contact experiences. These tapes are played as a way to communicate recognition and identification with past meetings. It always reminds me of the sequence played on the synthesizer in the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

Here are some tips from CSETI about how to recognize phenomena of a "contact" nature:

Meteorites That May Not Be Meteorites: They may be larger, brighter and more spherical. They don't have a tail. They flash brighter or get dimmer on their own or in response to being signaled with a spot light or a laser light. The most confirming experience of all: if you are wondering if you are watching a meteorite or a ship, mentally ask it to change direction. When it abruptly turns or reverses, you have your CE5.
Satellites That May Not Be Satellites: Satellites are visible until they gradually fade from view. Anomalous "satellites" suddenly disappear, or if viewed through powerful night-vision binoculars, can be seen to dart swiftly into space at an angle perpendicular to their earlier trajectory. ET craft may also appear at any time of the night, unlike normal satellites.
Airplane-like UFOs: These are airplane-like objects that are lighted and fly like planes, but are not planes. They may be either ET craft or ARTs (Alien Reproductive Vehicles, made on Earth). These craft usually do not strobe like normal airplanes and are often silent.
Orbs and Lights: Orbs can be seen at a distance or very near or actually within the group. Often, when photos are taken of the sky or the group, the orbs show up on the film. The colors are very beautiful, often amber or green.
Distorted Sky: A distortion in the star field can appear as though there are heat waves or shimmering even though no object can be seen. There may be other times when a small portion of the sky may appear darker than the surrounding sky. This may be indicative of a hovering clocked craft.

During these types of happenings and sightings participants report many different types of personal experiences. There is often a sense of the body warming up or an increase in the temperature in the surrounding area. Changes in atmospheric pressure can be felt in observer's ears along with a decrease in wind and an overall feeling of stillness and silence. Some report body vibrations from the very mildly detectable to full out shaking. Scents are detected by some, often floral, such as roses or violets. Sometimes people feel touch and hear shuffling sounds around them. The appearance of ETI can vary from a sense of energy, to very faint impressions of outlines, to full manifestations. Often this is contingent on the person's experience, comfort level and sensitivity. My experience at these types of gatherings is that the ETI's primary motivation is to protect us from fear or trauma. If one person in the group begins to panic or have acute anxiety, often the entire encounter will end. That is the most important reason that CSETI emphasized preparation for a group activity such as this. It is required that participants do a lot of reading and self-examination before attending a vectoring group, and try to mentally prepare for any and all possibilities. One of the questions asked of us before we participate is "Are you prepared to be gone for an undetermined period of time?" Also, "Would you be willing to board a craft if given the opportunity?" In my mind, there is only one answer to these questions, but I realize that this is not necessarily the case for most people.

The most common experience of humans involved in these types of meetings is a highly charged feeling of love, gratitude and wonder. You often hear people crying out in joy and laughing out loud. I don't believe it is possible to have an experience like this without being changed forever. This potential for us to be "changed forever" is what powered my interest in writing this class. It is when we are changed that we can change the world. I wish for as many humans as possible who are open, desirous and "awakened" to have this type of contact experience. You will never be the same.

In a CSETI vectoring group, once contact has been made, group-to-group, we will often engage in a community prayer for peace and evolution in the Universe. A sampling of a prayer led by Dr. Greer is:

...together, as we gaze upon the Earth from this specific point in time and space, we see that she is emerging into a time of enlightenment. We ask the infinite God, as we focus on the Earth, to transform every dark heart into light. And wherever there is hatred, that it be replaced with affection and love. We ask that greed be replaced with altruism and generosity, ignorance illumined with knowledge, love and peace.

Within the heart of the reality of Earth and her people we see a beautiful golden Light dawning. We see the Earth transform into a rose garden of peace. And as she goes forward from this point, she becomes one of the genuine repositories of peace and knowledge in the Cosmos. In this state of peace, all peoples turn to the Earth and are filled with joy because the time of the fulfillment of the promise of humanity and of the greatest fruits of the Earth have arrived.

And we are here to witness that time and to usher in that reality. We now manifest the time of enlightenment in an unbroken period of thousands of years of peace to be enjoyed by countless generations to come. Amen.

The Metaphysical Nature Of The Universe

"Thinkest thyself a puny form when within thee the universe is folded?" —Ancient Sufi tradition

Dolores Cannon is adamant with other UFO researchers that until the metaphysical principles upon which the universe operates are understood, we will never understand the UFO/ET presence on Earth. While scientists are busy measuring how much fuel it would take to get to the nearest star, and how can we send babies into space so that they will be adults by the time they reach that star, what we really need to be understanding is how a ship can be powered by collective thought. I heard Phil Corso, Jr. at a UFO conference talking about his father's work. He claimed that the Roswell craft was operated by our future selves and that the crash caused a disturbance in the time line that needs to be corrected. He is busy trying to build a craft that will reintegrate time in some way. I don't know if this is true, but it might be. I am willing to entertain the idea as a possible truth. Dolores says that we need to be able to consider things like time travel, parallel dimensions, teleportation, and mental telepathy before we can truly understand anything about our ET families and what they are about.

The whole crop circle phenomenon is one example of this "more than the physical" reality. When crop formations appear in fields, in an instant portraying symbols that represent advanced geometrical and mathematical concepts and equations that relate to quantum physics, and the British Ministry of Defense says they were made by regular guys named Doug and Dave who were setting up a hoax, it always make me wonder "How dumb do you think I am?"

"Suppose you were given a set of keys, keys that awaken a giant sleeping network of energy. Keys that open a library of ancient information, knowledge that science is only now rediscovering. Keys encoding new systems of technology. Keys with powers to heal, to alter consciousness and affect social change. Keys that provide a bridge between physical and non-physical realms. Keys that ultimately unlock the Universal potential within you. And suppose great efforts have been employed to suppress the origins of these keys?" Secrets Of The Fields (2002).

Dolores Cannon says that the crop circles are made by transdimensionals, beings so advanced that they are pure energy, momentarily popping into 3D to give us a gift. The beauty and mystery of the circles are captivating. Those that I have spoken to that have been inside of them say that the energy is unlike anything else they have ever experienced on this Earth. I have only slept with the pictures under my pillow, signaling my permission for the energy/information to be downloaded for the highest good of all concerned. Do they really think that we are so hypnotized that the Doug and Dave thing will fly? I think we have been grossly underestimated as mindless sheep!

Dr. Greer's paper The Crossing Point Of Light (1998) addresses conclusions made from years of research and experience of ET happenings in the field. He says that to expect life-forms that have evolved on different planets around different suns would use twentieth century technology such as TV and radio signals is akin to expecting that our scientists would pay attention to smoke rings as a form of communication. He asks us to consider the question "What lies beyond the "crossing point of light" or past the barrier of the speed of light? What do you experience when you exceed the speed or vibration of light and electrons and even subatomic particles? What exists when you traverse that barrier and go beyond the speed of light and the frequency and energy of matter?"

Greer teaches his groups about what he calls non-local essence that is present at every point in time and space and yet is bound by no point in space or time or matter. He says that this essence is awake, intelligent and knowing. It is conscious. It is mind. It is the awake—ness of awareness, the undifferentiated pure intelligence and mind of the universe.

With the advent of the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?" and Lynn McTaggart's book The Field (2002) we can see that it is time for the consciousness of humanity to embrace the truth that all is life and all is one and all is connected. These are principles that have been taught in esoteric spiritual traditions across time and culture. Now they are being presented through Western scientific mind. People who have been practicing the spiritual principle of using thoughts to create our own reality are relieved to see the science of quantum physics catching up to us and bridging the two modalities of science and metaphysics.

From this perspective it is not such a leap to think that ET communication systems are ones that interface with mind, thought and computerized telemetry. All those accounts of telepathic communications with ETI take on more significance in light of this reality. There are many accounts of very ordinary humans seeing an ET craft and directly interacting with it by thought alone. The person may think "I wish it would move to the right" and the craft moves to the right, or as it starts to leave the person may think "I wish it would turn around and come back" and it turns around and comes back. So, are our teachers just answering our requests for entertainment, reassurance value, or are they teaching us how to communicate with them and how we will all be communicating with each other in the future? Perhaps telepathy is the most universal language of all.

One of the CSETI witnesses relays a story from the time that he worked as a former Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies scientist more than forty years ago. He says that while working on a covert research project he was given an ET communication device by a general and asked to study and reverse engineer the technology. Upon receiving it, a round object about the size of a grapefruit, dark and textured on the surface, it began to "speak" to him directly in his awareness with thought. He was startled by this, of course, especially when the device told him that the people who had asked him to study the object had malice in their hearts and that the scientist should destroy the device.

After struggling with what to do about this dilemma, the scientist "accidentally" over-heated the device in an experiment and it was destroyed (at least materially). But after it was destroyed he heard one last thought that said, "Thank you."

Again, imagine having such an experience and then holding that inside for decades. Imagine how much energy that would take. And now imagine freeing up that energy to explore and experience the truth of who we are and how our Universe really works.

Counseling Contactees

Since this group consists 80% of our fellow humans in America alone, those of us in the healing professions are likely to encounter people who have been through these things and are seeking help.

There is a Chinese proverb that goes something like "May you be cursed to know that something is absolutely true that the rest of the world doesn't believe."

I might add to this, something that the rest of the world pretends it doesn't believe and is bent on making people who do believe feel unstable. This feeling of instability is often what will lead experiencers to seek some form of help or healing. In the helping profession we know that powerful feelings and experiences that are held in will eventually take their toll on a person's physical and mental health. The medical profession now reports that somewhere in the range of 90% of the conditions people are being seen for are stress related or stress exacerbated. In the mental health field stress is the number one culprit.

Previously I mentioned that in the abduction experiences revealed by Leah A. Haley, after extensive psychological testing, the only diagnosis assigned to her was that of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), resulting from her experiences. The working definition of trauma is "an event outside the range of normal human experience." The way we are conditioned to believe that UFOs don't exist, any of the previously described scenarios with ETI could then possibly fall into the category of "traumatic."

From being a therapist specializing in PTSD for twenty years, I also have learned that the ego strength of a person pre-trauma will greatly affect a person's recovery process post-trauma. A trauma is often an injury to the identity. The healing and recovery from the trauma necessitates that a person find a satisfactory answer to the question "Who am I now?" as in, I saw myself as one person before this event and now that I have experienced this event, I feel like I am another person altogether. It can represent a loss of innocence, a loss of a sense of safety in the world, a loss of trust of self and other people and/or a loss of comfort or health in the physical body.

The most important approach in working with people dealing with trauma is to first validate their feelings and perceptions of the experience.

"I was afraid," "Of course you were afraid."

"I was confused," "Of course you were confused."

"I froze," "Of course you froze."

"My memory is vague," "Of course your memory is vague."

It helps to remind people that what they went through was traumatic and all responses are normal in light of that trauma, including fight, flight and freezing in place.

Initially, people usually will need to get out the things they have been holding against themselves and say them to another person. If you are the first person to hear such a story, remember you will represent to them "all people." One of the reasons that stories are held in is because we fear judgment from others. That is what David Icke refers to when he talks about the way we police each other.

Invariably, we are always judging ourselves in retrospect for our actions during times of chaos and trauma. So if you are honored to be the first witness to an important event in a person's life, you have the opportunity of modeling a caring, understanding and comforting humanity.

Once the story has been told and validated, all techniques that assist in stress reduction are helpful. People often experience nightmares, vivid dreams and flashbacks of traumatic events. These are all the result of the mind's attempt to integrate the experiences and are normal healing activities.

Reworking nightmare scenarios to a scenario of empowerment for the dreamer is a helpful technique. For example: I dreamed that I am in the ship again and I can't move or speak.

Ask the dreamer to envision what he or she might have done or said if they could move or speak. Suggest that they visualize a scenario where this actually happens and the dream ends with the person feeling in charge of their life once again. Then suggest that the dreamer replay this new ending right before falling asleep. Usually, this will lead to a dream that feels empowering and the dreamer wakes up and takes that feeling of empowerment into waking life. This feeling will soon supercede any feelings of victimization.

Hypnosis, light trance, and visualization states can be helpful for people who would like to see if they might be able to retrieve more memories that may have been suppressed. I always remind people that they have their own innate wisdom, and if that wisdom decides that the memory is not necessary, then the person will not need to recall it. I also give the suggestion that any memory that does come forward is only for the highest good and healing intent. If people experience discomfort during memory retrieval it is important to suggest to them that they can watch what happened to them from a distance, a very neutral, safe place and that the memory is for information purposes only. This type of work, of course, would only be done in an atmosphere of safety and trust between the facilitator and the client.

Experiencer support groups for these types of events and memories can also be very helpful in reminding people that they are not alone and that many very "normal" people have these types of experiences. Bibliotherapy can also be helpful. The list of books in the bibliography for this class would be a good place to start.

As with any other issue, your own comfort level with an issue is what will dictate your ability to be helpful to others. If you have fears or concerns around this issue it will be best for you to seek your own process of resolution before you attempt to be of assistance to other people.

Why Are They Here?

There is evidence. There are volumes of evidence. It can be overwhelming. I have waded through a lot of it and presented what makes sense to me and what seems provocative to me. I have presented information that has been inspiring to me and what has been helpful for me. It is merely a place to begin. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find what makes sense to you in the realms of the UFO and the ET. I hope that this reading was enough to peak your interest and inspire you to continue.

My current assessments of ET motivation for presence on Earth are in alignment with CSETI's conclusions from their research and are as follows:

Pure study and research of a rapidly developing intelligent species during a time of transition to a world community.
A needed increase in ETI knowledge of world societies and human nature preparatory to future significant interaction.
Preparatory activities for continued readiness in the event that intervention is required during a major world emergency.
Emergency intervention in the event of an environmental or geological catastrophe of worldwide dimensions.
Protection of space from hostile or military utilization by human national interests.
ETI short and long-term goals related to the attainment of a significant human paradigm shift from one of fragmentation/separation to one of unity, to include the unity of science, religion, world political and eventual spiritual unity and universal unity. This paradigm shift is dependent on the development of human consciousness, which is of particular interest to ETI and
The preservation and advancement of intelligent life in the universe. I am grateful for their presence and care. I desire more contact and exchange for the betterment of all.

Conclusion

This class is much less about who are they, why are they here and where are they going, than who are we, why are we here and where are we going?

During my first vectoring experience, when I was in telepathic contact with an ETI, I was asking why they would want communication with us. It was clear to me what we had to benefit from our interaction with them, but I wondered what we had to give in return. They were quick to point out my own issue to me.

"It is only your sense of your own unworthiness that separates us." Advanced doesn't mean better or smarter necessarily. It only means, "been around longer."

And the second thought-message they gave brought it home for me.

"As you are, we once were. As we are, you will become. To know you, is to know ourselves."

For me, considering that these wise and loving beings whose energy I have experienced is what I have to look forward to becoming, I feel a whole new sense of inspiration and passion for living. I am motivated to learn more and more and to look for solutions, especially solutions that can lead toward more open contact and communication between humanity and those who have the best interests of the Universe as their primary focus.

According to many of these groups, what is happening here on Earth is of primary interest to all intelligent life in the Universe. If we do not navigate through this stage of our technological adolescence, where our technology has outdistanced our spiritual maturity, and we destroy Gaia, the reverberations will be felt by all life, as truly we are all One.

It's time for us to wake up and mature. It is time for us to take responsibility for ourselves and our planet and our brothers and sisters. It is time for us to come out of the hypnotic trance we have been subject to since birth. We have been hypnotized by our families to believe we are limited, we have been hypnotized by religion to believe we are not worthy, we have been hypnotized by government agencies to believe we are powerless and we have been hypnotized by the media to believe that as long as we keep spending money and going into debt to "keep up with the Jones" that one day we will finally be happy, one day, some day, not now, but in the future if we do it right. But we can never really do it right, because whatever "right" is keeps changing. We are distracted by Reality Shows and constant bombardment of sensationalized accounts of the lives of movie stars. We watch court proceedings of violent crimes that go on eternally as a form of entertainment. What do we really need to be paying attention to?

When we wake up out of the Matrix what will we find? Many ETI look at us as a type of royalty because of the different genetic lineages that we contain. The belief is that once we know the truth of who we are we will rise up to our true potential and take our places in an evolving Universe. When that happens there will be rejoicing throughout the Heavens. Just my opinion, of course, but I am not alone in this view of humanity.

So it is up to us to decide. What well-known movie about extraterrestrials do you identify with most?

Starman? Do you wake up every morning wondering how you got here and why humans act they way they do? Do you have to read the instruction manual on your body to figure out how to get out of bed in the morning and get it going?

ET? Do you sometimes feel like you got dropped off here and they forgot to pick you up and you are feeling more and more "gray" as time goes on?

Alien? Do you live in fear of your ET family? Are you concerned that one of them might pop out of your stomach next Thanksgiving?

Cocoon? Do you want to wait until you are old and about to die, so you don't have anything to loose, before you find out the truth of who you really are?

Star Wars? Do you feel more at home in the Star Wars bar scene than in that human bar scene you were in last night?

K Pax? Are you concerned that people will diagnose you with MPD and put you in a mental institution if you start talking too much about your home planet?

Contact? Do you think we should take a purely scientific approach to the ET/UFO phenomena and wait until presence can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to everyone or until they show up dressed like your dad who has already passed on?

Or Close Encounters of the Third Kind? My mash potatoes have been looking a little funny to me these days, pick me! Pick me!

It's really up to us, of course, who we want to be and how we want to be it. And since our thoughts create our reality, the only power any outside source has to control us is the power we give them to control our thoughts. Thoughts that engender fear are thoughts used to control and disempower. We know we are all immortal, eternal beings. Of what is there to be afraid?

Shirley MacLaine broke it all open in the 80's with her story and her example. She put her reputation and career on the line to tell what she had witnessed and bring it to our attention through mainstream media. After all, "In order to get the fruit from the tree, sometimes you have to go out on a limb."
