What is a Satsang?

"Satsang" is a Sanskrit word meaning "gathering in truth." Satsang is a Hindu concept for the gathering of like-minded individuals contemplating truth. A satsang often consists of meditation, lectures from gurus to students, recitations of spiritual lessons or poetry, affirmations of truth or about the nature of self or reality, or any combination of these.

The concept of satsang is similar to when Jesus said in the Christian Bible, "Whenever two or more are gathered in my name, I am there with them."

Satsangs are usually conducted face-to-face with seekers and masters alike. However, streaming video has made it possible for people to experience satsangs through the Internet. The satsangs offered by the Universal Church of Metaphysics are the church's way of helping others with their spiritual journeys even though they may be separated from the physical church by great distances.
